POSITION SUMMARY:

Kodak Alaris is seeking a self-motivated, well-rounded Product Development Engineer to join our Photo Kiosk Hardware Development Team. The Product Development Engineer will support all aspects of the product cycle from concept through discontinuance. The position will concentrate on Printers and Related Accessories.

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Primary responsibility will be Printer Product Development and Continuous Improvement.
• Work with external manufacturers throughout the development process to deliver innovative, world class products that provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with regional technical teams and WW organization regarding product requirements and development activities.
• Work with regional business teams and customers throughout product life cycle as needed.
• Perform competitive analysis
• Coordinate root cause analysis, design experiments, solution definition, testing, justification, implementation, and deployment of improvements as well as follow-up verification activities.
• Cost analysis/justification/proposals of cost reductions, process improvements and other design improvements
• Provide support for the printer products utilizing field, service, system, and other data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate activities to resolve and implement component obsolescence issues.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE SPECIFICATIONS:

• Thermal printing knowledge highly desired or other non-contact printing technologies
• Familiarity with JMP, Minitab, or other statistical analysis tools
• Familiarity with Firmware, SDK Drivers - Highly Desired
• Familiarity with Photo Printing and Picture Kiosks
• Knowledge of prototyping, assembly, and component manufacturing processes. (ex: Plastic molding, sheet metal fabrication, stampings, rollers, and rotational/prismatic machining.)
• Experience working with OEM and ODM equipment suppliers
• Human Centered Design
• Familiarity with equipment commercialization process
• Familiarity with Current/Sustaining Engineering
• Project Management
• Lean Manufacturing
• CAD applications/blueprint reading
• Equipment Safety/Regulatory Agency requirements/ Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE SPECIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equiv. related field.
• 2-10 yrs. experience desired
