The Product Development Manager will develop and execute strategic new business initiatives. Leveraging Materion Technical Materials' (MTM) capabilities and reputation as a leading innovator in composite metals, this role will be responsible for the successful commercialization of assigned new products.

You Will Have the Opportunity to:

• Identify innovative new product solutions for a variety of high tech end markets.
• Actively participate in both internal process developments within MTM manufacturing, as well as problem solving seminars with potential customers.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate between process engineering, quality and manufacturing personnel regarding the successful launch of new programs.
• Technically support selective market initiatives in the field through extensive customer meetings and communications.
• On assigned product launches, coordinate pricing/profitability and competitive analysis along with technology assessments.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Materials Science / Metallurgical Engineering / Chemical Engineering or similar Engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years experience in metals/related industry, preferably involving strip or clad metal engineering or metal parts/component design and manufacturing.
• Specialty metals market knowledge in the medical, automotive, telecommunications, computer or electronics industries.
• Previous product development experience with significant customer contact.
• Expertise with various alloy families (ferrous, copped based, refractory, aluminum, and precious metal alloys).
• Domestic and international travel required.
