Collaborates with the business to develop, draft and deliver expertly worded contract language to meet market demand and support corporate underwriting appetite while protecting the enterprise.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
  • Develops, revises, and maintains policy forms and endorsements for all enterprise first-party property product lines. Responsible for overseeing the product through its lifecycle to meet the demands of the market, regulatory environment and underwriting staff.
  • Assists in responding to state inquiries and coordinates with other business partners as appropriate.
  • Monitors, evaluates and advises business areas regarding state/federal legislative and regulatory activity and industry developments as they impact product lines including assisting with responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Consults and provides guidance on product and compliance issues in conjunction with business and regulatory attorneys.
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and the business, as needed, on special projects.
  • Assists with creation and review of training, marketing and risk management materials relating to new products and forms.
  • Proactively evaluates processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement or innovation.

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of first-party property insurance including products, underwriting, claim, legal, and regulatory.
  • Ability to resolve short term problems while supporting long-term objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with relevant business areas and external contacts.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solid computer skills including strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other business related software systems.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and standard insurance contracts, coverage, and regulatory issues.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree; Juris Doctor preferred but not required
  • Typically a minimum of five years related work experience in commercial and standard insurance claims, underwriting, coverage and contract drafting.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York and Washington, the standard base pay range for this role is $56,000 to $223,850 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
