Job Description

The Innovation & Commercialization Team seeks to advance Invesco's ETF & Index Strategies business through client-centric innovation and commercialization strategies that drive revenue growth and increase our market share. The ETF Product Development Manager for the Innovation & Commercialization Team will support and manage initiatives to facilitate strategic priorities for ETFs, SMAs, and other investment products and programs.

Develop and present new product analyses:

  • Coordinate with Index Providers and key internal stakeholders to identify new ETF and SMA concepts
  • Develop fact-based analyses based on competitive intelligence, market trends, knowledge of capital markets, and distribution channels
  • Document proposed ETF concepts and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses relative to other Invesco ETF offerings and competitor strategies
  • Work closely with index providers and Invesco stakeholders to ensure investment strategy meets regulatory and operational parameters
  • Partner with finance to develop robust financial analyses
  • Prepare presentations of new product proposals to appropriate approval entities and provide content necessary for Funds' Board of Directors approvals

Implement new product launches and other product initiatives:

  • Consult with key stakeholders to construct and execute robust new product launch project plans
  • Facilitate recurring meetings to report on product launch status updates
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for key issues
  • Act as liaison between internal partners and relevant external audiences, e.g., listing exchanges
  • Coordinate with regional ETF product committees in their product development initiatives
  • Manage other product efforts for the existing lineup, such as index changes and liquidations
  • Support commercialization efforts for new and existing products as needed/as requested

Manage and participate in strategic planning activities:

  • Lead product development and business unit strategic planning projects
  • Develop and document analyses and recommendations for annual product development strategic planning process as well as ad hoc strategic planning initiatives
  • Produce and incorporate primary and secondary research to support strategic planning initiatives
  • Work closely with finance to develop financial analyses of strategic planning initiatives

Track and report on industry trends and competitor intelligence:

  • Track and develop subject-matter expertise regarding economic, regulatory, and marketing issues and trends including monitoring new product filings and other product development related publications
  • Develop strategic analyses on topics that will influence Invesco ETF distribution strategies, marketing and product programs, and broader business strategies
  • Develop and present ad hoc analyses to SMDs and other key executives in response to market and competitor activity
  • Monitor new product filings and other product development publications

Manage governance-related projects:

  • Provide thought leadership in response to industry consultations and coordinate analysis and communication to index providers
  • Prepare due diligence presentations for use with external partners outlining Invesco's product development process
  • Participate in index provider oversight activities and work with internal stakeholders to monitor index provider relationships

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Minimum of five years product development or product management experience with a financial services organization. ETF and/or SMA experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, ETPs, SMAs, indexing, and investment concepts.

Skills Required:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively on investment issues.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, written communication and oral presentation skills. Must be comfortable presenting to Senior Leadership, including c-level executives.
  • Minimum of three years' experience developing strategic, financial markets, and/or product presentations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all departments and organizational levels.
  • Highly independent. Must be comfortable with establishing objectives, then working independently to achieve them, seeking manager's input as needed.

Formal Education:

  • MBA degree preferred but not required
  • Undergraduate degree required

License/Registration/Certification:

  • Series 6 or 7, 63, 26 preferred. Must be capable of obtaining licensing within 120 days if not currently held.
  • CFA, CAIA, or other professional qualifications preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
  • Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
