Product Development Operations Specialist 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hard-working, creative problem solver to join Brilliant Earth’s Product Development team. The primary objectives of the Product Development Operations Specialist position are to maximize quality, efficiency and accuracy throughout the development process, while developing strong vendor relationships. The ideal person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working towards strict deadlines while still achieving high quality results.

This position requires daily, full-time on-site attendance in our Secaucus, NJ distribution center. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with partners and vendors to produce samples and live orders, communicating clearly and staying organized to maintain accuracy and efficiency to support Seasonal Line Planning development with many moving parts
  • Support the product development process by managing deliverables, facilitating handoffs cross functionally and with external partners 
  • Own quality assurance testing on physical products, and photographing and documenting sample specs in the prototype review and intake process 
  • Assist in product costing and negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and support margin goals 
  • Create and manage item records, capturing unique attributes with a high degree of accuracy and consistency 
  • Build, manage and maintain relationships with partners and vendors
  • Ensure accurate product representation on our website 
  • Coordinate inventory controls for prototypes onsite and between multiple locations
  • Allocate development volume against planned targets for our partners while maintaining our manufacturing standards and best business practices
  • Implement continual improvements to systems, policies, and procedures to align with Brilliant Earth’s quality, delivery and cost objectives and ensure smooth operations of business

You’re a great fit if you have:

  • BA degree or equivalent, preferred
  • Experience with vendor management required (2+ years preferred)
  • Experience in the jewelry industry and/or in physical product development 
  • Experience performing quality assurance testing and photographing physical samples
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively across all levels of the organization, including external vendors and partners
  • Robust computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of ERP/inventory systems
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and maintain a high level of adaptability, organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think critically and adapt quickly, with a high sense of urgency 
  • Team player with an ability to work collaboratively
  • Interest in socially and environmentally responsible organizations and products
  • Ability to commute daily to Secaucus, NJ distribution center
