Product Director, Real World Data

As a Product Director at Tempus, you’ll be on the front lines of our battle to develop and deliver cutting-edge, modern technology into the hands of clinicians. The software we’re developing is the culmination of input from scientists, clinicians, pathologists, engineers, data scientists, and some of the top academic medical centers in the world.

In this Director role, you will lead our Real World Data product team, whose mission is to ingest, organize, aggregate, and harmonize multi-modal data at unparalleled scale to achieve our mission: organize the world’s healthcare data and make it accessible to bring the practical applications of AI to healthcare. You’ll both drive the product vision in these spaces, and manage the team that will collaborate with you on that vision.

You will: 

• Own the product vision for our underlying data platform that is used by both internal researchers at Tempus and our external data customers.
• Own the vision for improving the utility of our our multi-modal dataset and its underlying data model
• Own the vision for how we ingest, structure and harmonize new data onto our data platform
• Inspire, manage, direct and coach a team of 5 product managers to deliver business impact while coaching them to grow as product leaders
• Represent and communicate product vision to the heads of our data business and other senior executives
• Collaborate with other members of the product leadership team on advancements to our product development playbook and product culture

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in product management or in building software, preferably in the healthcare or biotech industry 
• Experience in some combination of medical informatics, real world data, EMR systems integration and medical data modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to act as translator among diverse teams of biologists, medical professionals, engineers, operators, and data scientists.
• 4+ years of experience directly managing people
• Experience working with agile software development teams and in driving process improvement in a growing product organization
• Ability and interest to quickly ramp up on new concepts in the fields of genomics, oncology, digital pathology, etc
