Job Description

Octane® is revolutionizing recreational purchases by delivering a seamless, end-to-end digital buying experience. We connect people with their passions by combining cutting-edge technology and innovative risk strategies to make lifestyle purchases - like powersports vehicles, RVs, and OPE - fast, easy, and accessible.

Octane adds value throughout the customer journey: inspiring enthusiasts with our editorial brands, including Cycle World® and UTV Driver®, instantly prequalifying consumers for financing online, routing customers to dealerships for an easy closing, and supporting customers throughout their loan with superior loan servicing.

Founded in 2014, we’re a remote-first company with 550+ employees and over 30 OEM and 4,000 dealer partners.

Octane is seeking a Product Director, Servicing Platform to reimagine and own the suite of products that will allow Octane to scale our loan book tenfold over the next 36 months while moderating variable staff expense growth, delighting our customers and staff, ensuring operational excellence, and mitigating risk. You will lead and grow a team of product managers and partner with engineering and business stakeholders to improve and automate processes within Loan Servicing. You will be responsible for defining and leading execution of the short- and long-term product vision that gives our servicing team automated processes that allow them to deliver the fastest, simplest experience to our customers. You’ll work closely with stakeholders and product delivery teams managing data science, credit decisioning, fraud detection, loan processing, dealer experience, data, and consumer experience. You will also work closely with your partners in Servicing to not only automate existing processes, but identify process improvements and potential procedures to eliminate.

A successful candidate for this role is a first-principles systems thinker with experience in loan servicing technology stacks. They can cut through complexity to deploy the most high-impact products (be they newly built systems, middleware, or off-the-shelf tools), while maintaining the buy-in and support of the servicing organization. They are firmly focused on how to drive results through the product roadmap, constantly leverage data and metrics to inform decisions, and can articulate a clear product strategy to bring senior leadership along with decision making. This is a high visibility role that reports directly to the Chief Product Officer.

What you'll do:

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for our Servicing team.
  • Define clear objectives and key results for the business platform team in conjunction with business stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Lead a team of PMs responsible for constructing, launching, and maintaining the first and third party systems, integrations, and middleware that comprise our core business platform, partnering closely with engineering to execute.
  • Deploy self-service tooling to reduce the manual processes that harm our consumer experience.
  • Forecast potential opportunities, gaps, and scaling issues in our operations and servicing processes before they materialize.
  • Own the relationships and integrations with our external software vendors (Salesforce, LoanPro, Speedpay, and more), ensuring that we have the right technical solutions and relationships in place to continue scaling loan volume.

What we look for:

  • 6+ years of product management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a product team in loan servicing, collections operations, and compliance management, ideally at a tech-first company that is focused on improving processes and outcomes through innovation.
  • A demonstrated track record of launching highly impactful, medium to large scale projects.
  • Analytical ability and capacity to create sound business arguments backed up by data.
  • Ability to establish and manage projects and initiatives against a set of key metrics and goals.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functionally and align diverse teams to a common goal.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving environment while establishing and maintaining trust with diverse stakeholders from operational units, compliance, and growth teams.

Benefits:

  • Robust Health Care Plans (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Generous Parental Leave
  • Up to 5 weeks time off (self-managed)
  • Retirement Plan (401k) with Company non-elective contribution AND company match!
  • Educational Assistance/Tuition Reimbursement up to $3K/year
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Short Term / Long Term Disability
  • Team Activities (remotely)
  • Robust Ancillary benefits including accident insurance, hospital insurance, etc
