Role Summary
Leads the most complex product management activities associated with the strategy, development, introduction, restructuring, merging of products, new share classes and new vehicles. Evaluates competitive environment and trends, analyzes weakness or gaps, and identifies potential opportunities. Evaluates products in detail; designs, develops and/or recommends appropriate solutions to ensure effective and efficient ongoing management of the products. Develops recommendations for new products and enhancements based on in depth knowledge of industry and regulatory environment. Analyzes extremely complex client requirements and develops solutions. Applies in-depth, comprehensive knowledge and business acumen related to the economics of the products and associated market behavior. Leads planning, preparation, and execution of product governance meetings, including boards. Participates with management to develop and oversee business processes, procedures, and policies related to the products and investment vehicles. Regarded as an internal expert and collaborates with high-level stakeholders across the organization. Interacts regularly with clients, regulators, vendors and other external industry stakeholders as necessary.

Responsibilities:
- Creates strategic product management roadmaps. Leads product management activities associated with the launch/introduction, restructuring, merging, closing, or reopening of new products, classes, or new vehicles, for the most complex products. Leads all phases of the process from recommendation though implementation. Provides work direction to operating groups once internal approvals are obtained. Partners with Legal, Finance, Risk, etc. to ensure successful implementation. Evaluates economic success of products.
- Identifies, develops, recommends and oversees design of business processes, procedures, and policies related to the products and investment vehicles. Works with management across operations, distribution, investments and corporate divisions to investigate a variety of topics, including client eligibility, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Influences and advises peers on a comprehensive business case for new and existing firm offerings in the marketplace, often working on the most complex products/clients. Interacts directly with key leaders across the business and external customers to develop and enhance product offerings. Leverages a comprehensive knowledge of all products, the marketplace, industry, and client needs to integrate the demands of various regions and stay ahead of competitors and to drive product growth/development and maximize profitability. Viewed as a firm expert on the development and management of multiple, highly complex products. Identifies opportunities and provides recommendations around product enhancements or market growth; influences leaders to adopt recommendations. Creates, manages, and delivers customized analyses reflecting market-leading subject matter expertise.
- Leads planning, preparation, and execution of the most complex product governance meetings for boards, committees, key stakeholder groups. Includes providing highly complex and expert analytical support, documentation summarizing business issues, and presenting materials. Adept at presenting highly technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Oversees the most complex pricing activities, conferring with peers and leaders only as necessary when presented with unprecedented or unusual situations. Serves as subject matter expert for vehicle expenses, management fees, and operating expenses for vehicles including in-depth knowledge of industry practices and trends. Conducts extensive, highly strategic analyses to provide recommendations for consistent and competitive pricing strategies and practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
- 10+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of US Mutual Funds
- Experience supporting and/or presenting to a Fund Board of Directors
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to influence, have gravitas with senior leaders in distribution, investments, and global product
- Deep understanding of product development and management processes and practices together with a sound knowledge of operational and regulatory frameworks and how they relate to "best practice" product governance
- Professional curiosity to identify and drive new ideas of opportunity and an ability to pursue problem resolutions
- Understating of operational roles such as performance, reconciliation, etc. in order to effectively partner with internal and external partners
- MBA and/or CFA
- FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
