This position can be located in Waterloo, Dubuque, or Ankeny.
This position is eligible for a flexible or telework work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Product Engineer for John Deere Power Systemslocated in Waterloo, IA, you will work as part of a global, diverse team focused on delivering new Power Cylinder and Cranktrain solutions meeting performance, reliability, and cost targets. In addition, you will:

• Develop deep understanding of part function, manufacturing methods and supplier capabilities
• Lead development and failure resolution activities of base engine internal components
• Create models and drawings using Creo, develop BOM's/SFC's using PDM/SAP

What Skills You Need

• 2 or more years of experience working in product design or manufacturing role
• 2 or more years of experience working within a team developing novel solutions to difficult problems
• Experience creating models and drawings using 3D software
• Experience performing good data analysis and decision-making
• Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience listening, learning, and absorbing complex information from experts

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience working with multinational suppliers of highly engineered components
• Direct experience in the development or manufacture of diesel engine components
• Experience identifying root cause of component or system failure, especially of engines
• Experience with FEA, Performance Modeling (GT Power, AVL Excite, other)
• Experience and knowledge of Tribology
• Master's degree or Certificates in Engineering, Systems Engineering, 6 Sigma
• Working knowledge of foreign languages (German, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese)

Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, or Physics or equivalent experience
