The NPI reports through the Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA. GSS is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Primary Responsibility

As a product engineer (NPI), you will be actively engaged in the New Product Introduction process for a range of systems within the Nanoindentor product Family (see product link below) that measures Young's Modulus and hardness, including the measurement of deformation over six orders of magnitude. These systems can also measure the complex modulus of polymers, gels and biological tissue as well as the creep response (strain rate sensitivity) of thin metallic films. Common applications are Semiconductors, thin films, MEMS, Hard Coatings, Composite materials, fibers, polymers and many others (Check out the Nanoindentor Product Line!). As New Products are released into the field, an NPI's job is to ensure that there is a plan in place to service these tools. After the plan is built the NPI will act as the service stakeholder for all service related decisions regarding this product family.

The Nanoindentor product family is part of the KLA Instruments Group . The KLA Instruments Group is currently based out of Ann Arbor, MI and is growing at a rapid rate at our brand-new world headquarters. The Ann Arbor HQ already has a dedicated Nano Indentor Lab within the facility for building and testing this equipment. All we need is an NPI to stitch the plan together.

Make a plan. Execute the plan. Adapt the plan. Improve the plan. And above all else, exceed our customer's expectations. Are you ready to support new products in an exponentially growing market?
