Product Engineer

Responsibilites:

• Input DFM criteria to design engineering for the introduction of new products.
• Develop/provide product/customer specific documentation (i.eProcess instructions, process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA).
• Coordinate Test Matrix document through involvement of cross functional team.
• Identify capital equipment appropriations (CEA's) and unique tooling required for new product implementation.
• Coordinate the implementation of all design verification, process verification builds and new product launch activities.
• Support process and test group in process/test tooling development for all product specific processes.
• Utilize statistical techniques to summarize data to use in presentations.

• Work closely with quality group to insure that customer complaints are resolved.

• Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
• Timely completion of small-scale projects.
• Lead "Knockoff" product launches.
• Capable of maintaining MS Project Schedules for projects.
• Scheduling, running product review meetings.
• Maintain Product PFMEA.
• With assistance, constructs all or portions of project schedules based on standard NPL project templates.
• Analyzes manufacturing data for the purpose of implementing individual or team based continuous improvement activities.
• Lead the effort to incorporate design changes into manufacturing.
• Complete Green belt training and support the facility's Green Belt initiatives as mandated.
• Travel to other ZF sites and customer sites to provide support or execute instructions as provided by management or senior engineering leadership.
• Limited exercise of judgment is required in details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Understands risks associated with basic science and engineering practices and applies appropriate safe guards.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
• Support customer quality in development of quality control plan (QCP).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 5+ years experience in an electronics manufacturing engineering environment (thru-hole, SMT, final assembly, packaging); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Team leadership skills and the capability to communicate and influence at the plant staff level.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Green Belt / Black Belt Six Sigma training preferred.
• Familiarity with personal computing software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.).
