Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for creating and managing engineering documentation for XL Systems' Large OD Threaded Conductor and associated processes in the subsea conductor business. This position requires collaborating with and approving work for other product engineers based in the US, Europe, and Asia. This position will report to the engineering manager and will interface with all departments within XL Systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and document customer driven solutions.
  • Interface with internal sales and manufacturing to ensure technical aspects of customer solutions are understood.
  • Create Engineering Specifications
  • Managing and continuously improving internal processes including Engineering Document Management (EDM) System.
  • Interface with sales
  • Design of large diameter casing and conductor components and assemblies
  • Create 3D models of components and assemblies
  • Create detailed 2D drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Revise existing drawings when needed and complete engineering change notice forms
  • Work to improve documentation creation efficiency
  • Contribute to problem resolution that results in improvements to the product or process
  • Apply knowledge of industry standards and design standards
  • Other duties as defined by Engineering Manager
  • Comply with all NOV procedures and policies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-8 years of experience in product development
  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Typical 8am-5pm schedule but workload may require adjusting hours
  • Flexible workplace arrangement allows for working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home each week.

  • Proficient in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, or Pro Engineer
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with PLM Software such as TeamCenter
  • Strong engineering background
  • Some exposure to programming
