Product Engineer - Driveline

Job Description Summary

We are searching for a Product Engineer to contribute to our Driveline organization. This will be based out of our manufacturing plant in Three Rivers, Michigan.

Job Description

• Engineering analysis (design stack-ups, calculations, interfacing with CAE group)
• Customer support (Represent AAM in Product Development Team meetings)
• Product development (From requirements, initial hardware & validation to production)
• Develop, Validate and Release component / system designs
• Coordinate prototype builds for validation tests
• Present written and technical communication internally and to external stakeholders
• Provide technical direction to CAD designers, manufacturing/process engineers, suppliers, purchasing, analysis & test engineers, etc.
• Participate/Lead in Product Launch Teams, Fast Response activities, Warranty Resolutions
• Participate in Supplier Technical Reviews, provide guidance on engineering responses and activities, and approvals in accordance with AAM Policies
• Production support to aid in achievement of daily goals (FTQ, OEE, etc) set by the management team
• Design, Validate, and Release changes required from all plant initiatives.

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least one year of engineering experience in automotive or a related field.
• Moderate knowledge of powertrain design/manufacturing.
• • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
