We are looking for a talented Product Engineer (Hybrid) to join our team specializing in Engine Business for our Engine Business Segment in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • This is a product focused position that performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
  • In this role you will obtains input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
  • The main focus of this position will include working in business processes of Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI) or Current Product Support (CPS) and executing technical processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) while using tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
  • This position will require daily communications with different teams for project completion and daily issues including Assembly, Materials, Compiling, SQI, Central Quality, Machining, Shipping, etc.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with entry level engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required.
  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
  • Previous experience with leading multiple projects (mostly VPCRs) at once, pushing them through efficiently to completion
  • Professional Communication required for high priority project updates to Leadership
  • Experience with using multiple databases daily such as: - IMS - VPCR Database - Notes: Product Deviations, AMI lab, Met/Chem lab, Gage lab - Windchill: Viewing Prints and Models - Thingworx: Viewing prints, CES Standards, Part Search

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
