What you will do

This position will be responsible for owning the Aftermarket Flooded Lead Acid Battery Design within Clarios for the US Region. This includes managing and developing design tools used in the Lead Acid Engineering Design Process and leading Aftermarket Performance Compliance for the US. Additional responsibilities include leading Engineering Project Activities, Engineering Sample/Builds, and Product/Process Data Analysis.

How you will do it

Engineering Project Activities

  • Develop/execute Scope of Work related to the design/process and/or validation of existing products.
  • Prepare detailed plans to track area performance and assure timely completion and achievement of project goals
  • Support team members on any regional product line projects

Aftermarket Performance/Compliance

  • Analyze the requirements, capabilities, and performance of existing products
  • Analyze new designs using DFMEA and risk assessment
  • Communicate technical issues and battery compliance performance with clarity to non-technical audiences
  • Develop new Lead Acid battery designs for Aftermarket & OE Customers

Lead Acid Product/Process

  • Support manufacturing plants for product/process optimization, problem solving, and best business practices
  • Maintain & Contribute to Engineering Documentation (BOM, material specifications, performance standards, design standards, DFMEA, DVP&R, test plans) for Lead Acid product lines from Engineering Design to Customer PPAP
  • Execute Engineering Sample Builds required for OE, OES and AM program & project needs.
  • Contribute/Present to Engineering Design Reviews
  • Python, SQL, Power BI Data Analysis on Product & Process for the Clarios US Region

What we look for

Required

  • BS in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive engineering
  • 3 + years of relevant industry experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20% between headquarters and other Clarios sites, as needed
  • Applications, products, processes, and materials knowledge
  • Statistical analysis tools (DMAIC, DfSS, Minitab, Python, Power BI, etc)

Preferred

  • Experience preferred in Automotive, Lead Acid Batteries, and/or Manufacturing Plant Processes
  • Design for manufacturability, DFMEA capability
  • Problem solving tools (KT, 8D, etc.)
  • Lead Acid equipment and tool knowledge
  • Battery/Material Test Equipment Knowledge
