What you will do

This position is responsible to lead activities related to design, development, and validation of new products and activities related with the analysis of all lead acid product lines to improve and correct existing products.

How you will do it

  • Develop and execute Scope of Work related to the design/process and/or validation of existing products.
  • Prepare detailed plans to track area performance and assure timely completion and achievement of project goals.
  • Support team members on any regional product line projects.
  • Report on project progress to management and other appropriate leadership levels on weekly and monthly bases.
  • Analyze the requirements, capabilities, and performance of existing products
  • Analyze new designs using DFMEA and risk assessment.
  • Communicate technical issues, with clarity, to non-technical audiences.
  • Apply problem solving skills to develop new and innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Support manufacturing plants for product/process optimization and problem-solving activities.
  • Support in knowledge transfer/management (best business practices) between manufacturing facilities
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities for improvement - design/process
  • Contribute to development of material specifications and performance standards.
  • Maintain & Contribute to Engineering Documentation (design standards, D&P-FMEA, Process Specifications, & Work Instructions/Procedures) for Lead Acid product lines
  • Responsible for BOM documentation, process documentation, and release for ED/DV/PV trials
  • Define DVP&R & Review/Communicate test plan and updates.
  • Execute Engineering Sample Builds required for OE, OES and AM program & project needs.
  • Contribute/Present to Engineering Design Reviews
  • Document and summarize DBDS
  • Support with Engineering data the PPAP package for customer approval

What we look for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive engineering required
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant industry experience
  • Travel expectation is 20% (max) between headquarters and other Clarios sites as necessary
  • Applications, products, processes, and materials knowledge
  • Customer-facing experience

Preferred

  • Experience preferred in Automotive, Lead Acid Batteries, and/or Manufacturing Plant Processes
  • Design for manufacturability, D&P-FMEA capability
  • Problem solving tools (KT, 8D, etc.)
  • Statistical analysis tools (DMAIC, DfSS, Minitab, etc.)
  • Lead Acid equipment and tool knowledge
  • Battery/Material Test Equipment Knowledge
