Your Responsibilities
As a Product Engineer for John Deere's Combine and Front-End Equipment Engineering team located in Silvis, IL you will....
  • Design, analyze, and test new parts and subsystems that improve product performance, reliability, durability, manufacturability, and cost
  • Execute/support lab tests and field evaluation of new designs
  • Support development of test plans based on risk assessment and data analysis
  • Drive resolution of product issues
  • Effectively work with cross-functional team members and suppliers to deliver designs that meet performance, durability, cost, and schedule targets

  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to select, develop, analyze, and verify designs
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify key results, and deliver recommendations
  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and proven ability to work effectively with peers from all disciplines, backgrounds, and cultures
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize action
  • Growth mindset, willingness to learn
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (up to 50% during harvest seasons) to support development

What Makes You Stand Out
  • Agricultural or other off-highway vehicle product design or testing experience
  • Product development or manufacturing experience (including internships or co-op programs)
  • Experience capturing and analyzing data, and drawing conclusions/recommendations from the data
  • Experience using Creo Parametric, Windchill PDMLink, nCode, eDAQ
  • Agricultural or other off-highway vehicle operation or service/maintenance experience
  • Combine and front-end equipment machine form knowledge and interest
  • Course work focus in power & machinery, machine design, control systems

Education Details
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering
