Product Management Director - CATT Summary:
RSM's Center for Advanced Tax Technology ("CATT") is one of the fastest growing tax practice groups at RSM. The CATT team is focused on enhancing RSM US and global ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient Tax products and services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax functional, tax technical, technology development, and product management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.
The CATT Director is responsible for enabling the efficiency and productivity of tax professionals by defining, leading, and coordinating execution of one or more of the key functions in the Center for Advanced Tax Technology team, as outlined below.
The CATT Director also acts as a tax process and technology subject matter expert and business lead for a variety of tax internal initiatives. To execute their area of responsibility, the CATT Director leverages CATT staff, partners with tax project managers and coordinates closely with resources from IT, other functional areas, and the field offices.
JOB SUMMARY
Product Managers are responsible for product planning, delivery, and marketing over the life of the product ensuring the highest priority, value-driven solutions are delivered and refined based on usability feedback. This includes articulating strategic vision and goals, gathering and prioritizing requirements, and collaborating with other Product teams to ensure integration and solutions address business needs and to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Communicates the strategic vision and business value of the product.
- Defines and manages product roadmap, including overall prioritization of strategic and tactical activities (including inter-project dependencies).
- Understands Scaled Agile framework and drives digital transformation by integrating teams and adhering to firm standards.
- Communicates progress tracking with highly technical teams working on the development of complex solutions (scope, resources, budget, risks/issues stop-light reporting for leadership).
- Communicates project status with highly technical teams working on the development of complex solutions to very recent technologies.
- Owns "voice of the customer" assigned initiatives through regular interactions with business stakeholders, client representatives, support ticket analysis, discovery sessions, and other methods used to elicit feedback.
- Takes full accountability, ownership and drive the overall success of the assigned product (including integrations with common services), while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Defines, documents, and communicates opportunities requirements (epics, features, user stories) and outcomes. Ensures the business impact of technical enablers are understood and are factored into prioritized work backlogs as defined by the technology teams.
- Manages resources across multiple products/projects throughout the product life cycle to ensure product success from launch to end of life:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree - required (preference given to Business or Technology major)
- Minimum 10+ years relevant work experience as a Product Owner, Manager, or Marketer required (for example, tax technical, tax office operations, public accounting, tax filing software, etc.)
- Strong communication skills for differing audiences and situations
- Genuine interest and strong aptitude for understanding and use of technology
- Ability to assess, enhance and document business processes
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and Agile delivery frameworks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior public accounting experience with a mid to large size firm(s) or other professional services experience preferred
- Prior management experience working within a national tax role in tax software, processes, or both (preferred)
