Product Management Internship

SUMMARY

In this role, the Product Specialist Intern will have an opportunity to work with all HexArmor departments necessary to ensure a product’s lifecycle, quality and performance are properly managed. They will primarily assist and support the Product Development and Product Management teams to further progress open projects through competitive research and analysis, lab testing, communication with suppliers, and day to day departmental activities. It’s the expectation of HexArmor that the individual in this role is not only action oriented, organized and possesses good attention to detail, but also has a passion and curiosity for products. HexArmor is looking for someone who can jump on board and engage quickly with all aspects of the team and product lifecycle process.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works in conjunction with multiple departments including sales, marketing, and operations to assist in managing a product line
• Competitive benchmarking of HexArmor’s products to other brands in the market
• Communicates with external manufacturing partners to ensure product quality and performance, and to resolve manufacturing issues
• Learn and understand standardized testing processes and procedures from third-party labs
• Conduct internal product testing
• Learns HexArmor’s product lines to educate, train and answer technical questions
• Understanding product costing and the importance of cost vs. performance and quality as it relates to profit margin
• Work with internal production team to calculate material yields, understand product construction and assist with the glove alteration process
• Creates and maintains product specification sheets and artwork files
• Identifies opportunities for cost savings in the manufacturing or material of HexArmor products
• Assists product developers and managers on day to day tasks

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Enrolled in community college or university
• Undergraduate study focused in Business, Engineering, or Textiles preferred
• Knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
