Description
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our mission-driven team. As an integral part of a Product and Engineering department, you will join forces with the VP, Product and Engineering in our continued effort to inspire people to eat more plants!
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about building an excellent customer experience, hiring and managing a team of highly productive engineers to service both front-end and back-end platform needs, and can lay the foundation for technology that gets plant-based meals into the hands of millions of customers.
This position will play an important role in defining the technical future of Purple Carrot's website, its fulfillment technology, and its scalable integration with 3rd party services.
As the Product Manager you will be focused on building and managing a team of engineers, working closely with stakeholders teams to develop and launch new features, both for consumers as well as for internal stakeholders. You will take a strategic lens to what needs to be built, how to prioritize it, how to synthesize customer needs into launched deliverables.

Location
- Purple Carrot HQ is in Needham, MA and prefers local candidates to work in a hybrid model.
- This role has limited travel (< 10%) to partner sites or other business related meetings. Regular travel to Needham, MA HQ is expected if outside the area.
- Regular interaction with our parent company in Japan is required for this role, which sometimes includes working hours outside normal business hours
On the Plate
- Write and communicate functional requirements, partnering with various product, marketing, UX and insights stakeholders
- Use lean development tools, like experimentation and rapid prototyping, to drive teams towards strategic product decisions
- Develop and own a product roadmap, demonstrating a strong focus on KPIs and measurement
- Frame and lead discussions with key business and technical stakeholder to assess opportunities, make data-driven recommendations, and build consensus ahead of important investment decisions
- Be the authority on the creator experience that you manage
- Understand your product's strengths and weaknesses
- Find the right opportunities to innovate and enhance the experience with the right combination of essential and magical
- Manage dependencies and unblock your teams to optimize discovery and delivery work
- Proactively communicate product metrics and insights, showcasing a deep understanding of how your features are benefiting customers and the business
- Support building the long-term strategy and roadmap for Creator Products, helping to set the vision and guidance
- Identify new Product opportunities in the operations, growth and monetization space
- Drive alignment by leading tradeoff discussions that produce actionable decisions
- Be the authority on the customer experiences that you manage
- Find the right opportunities to innovate and skillfully balance big ideas with incremental impact for your customers
- Continually monitor creator tools and trends to ensure Audible is delivering value for creators
Main Ingredients for the Role
- 5+ years of relevant product management experience in consumer technology
- Experience maintaining a product roadmap and leading delivery of software products
- Demonstrated experience in agile, lean product management processes on high-velocity teams
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning technology products

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
