POLITICO is looking for a proactive and efficient product manager to lead the creation and ongoing management of POLITICO products. The product manager will lead projects and products as assigned by the Product Director including writing requirements, feature scoping, testing and delivery. They will work with other team functions to build and demonstrate a strong knowledge of the target users and buyers.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized with excellent communication and time management skills. Candidate must be able to build positive relationships with key stakeholders, coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of new digital products and/or enhanced digital product features
  • Carry out usability research in coordination with the UX designer
  • Work with stakeholders across the company, project managers, developers and QA to perform user acceptance testing, define requirements, create and update documentation, coordinate meetings and provide project updates
  • Maintain product backlogs. Work with the Product Director to prioritize features and manage roadmap changes in line with the core product vision, business priorities and sales strategies
  • Be the point-of-contact for stakeholders to ask product questions and issues from throughout the business. Identify when an issue requires additional input or escalation
  • Ensure routine content tasks are completed consistently and on schedule, working with Editorial, Production, Sales, Marketing and other key functions


What You'll Need:

  • Pro-active problem solving
  • Familiarity with politics & policy and/or media space a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Staying up-to-date with the industry and helping to drive innovation
  • Familiarity with ticketing software such as JIRA
  • Experience writing acceptance criteria or product requirements
  • Has worked directly with developers
