Product Manager

Essential Duties:

• In the areas of prepared meals, understand and rationalize the process for product creation.
• Head new product innovations and development projects via the stage gate process
• Identify and develop new products and manage each stage of the process through commercialization.
• Collaborate with marketing team to create comprehensive marketing plans and promotional programs for existing products to include product strategy development, collateral creation and brand management.
• Manage existing product portfolio, including product changes as needed
• Identify gaps in product portfolio for business segments
• Research and develop the cost analysis for new and existing prepared and shelf stable nutrition options
• Assess strategy to market within both managed care segments and community-based programs
• Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are met
• Work to ensure proper product development and management capabilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Has good problem-solving abilities
• Can troubleshoot issues and determine the cause of a plan's success or failure
• Stays current with the latest trends in nutrition
• Has excellent leadership abilities
• Keeps up to date with changes in the market and technology that would affect new product development
• Is able to meet deadlines

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree
• At least five years of work experience in product development and/or product management
• Experience with the stage gate process a plus
• At least two years of that experience working with research and development
• Food experience strongly preferred
• Registered Dietitian a plus
