Job Description
Simformotion™ LLC - the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc.--is looking for an experienced Product Manager to create new products and maintain the current product line. They will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the simulator product line, from concept development to retirement. Defining the product strategy, conduct market research, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and market launch.
Our ideal candidate will have a high aptitude and understanding of technology products, and a minimum of 5 years' experience leading products through all aspects of development from inception to launch to maintenance. We are looking for a self-starter and entrepreneurial thinker who can take on this new role and the responsibility for growing and managing a product line that comprises several industries.
Responsibilities
- Create product lifecycle strategy for complex and interrelated hardware and software product line.
- Responsible for product vision and continuous improvement of features and/or full products.
- Lead and obtain strategic buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate key messages and engage with many diverse functional stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Actively seek customer and market input and data as a source of product innovation.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of product post-launch.
- Complete market research to find out more about competitor products or customer needs.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Communicate project updates to team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure that all project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Lead and motivate team members to achieve project objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Continuously improve project management processes and tools to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Product Management, Project Management, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in product management.
- Experience managing the strategy, development, production, or marketing of new or existing products.
- Experience with software development methodologies and models designed to alter or develop software products.
- Skill at using mental reasoning or research to troubleshoot or solve problems.
- Experience with or knowledge of SaaS (Software as a Service).
- Skill or experience with the complete process of bringing a new product to market or with the process of modifying an existing product.
- Experience researching and collecting requirements for a system or product from stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in project management software tools such as Jira.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team.
