The Role: The fundamental responsibility of this position is to strategically manage assigned product categories and deliver targeted product line contribution margins. Product category responsibilities include managing existing products and new product development. The position requires a blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture strategic vision, and the drive and tactical expertise to make that vision a reality. The product manager must enjoy spending time in the market to understand customers' problems and then identify innovative solutions that help TAPCO win in the market.

  • Manages assigned product lines through their life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical execution.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies and new product launch activities across the organization that achieve sales goals.
  • Defines market requirements, pricing, and business case justification for existing and new products by conducting market research and competitive analysis; captures voice of customer and organizational needs.
  • Defines product value proposition, drives a solution set, and collaborates cross functionally, primarily with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Sales, and Marketing Communications
  • Analyzes and develops partner relationships with key vendors
  • Supports process improvement, lean manufacturing efforts and safety initiatives
  • Is the subject matter expert on assigned categories, buying behaviors, and assists with creation of product content, training, sales aids, trade shows, collateral, etc.
  • Assists the Manager of Product Management and other marketing department employees in developing and executing other key projects, as needed.


The Right Fit:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a B2B marketing or product management role, including new product launches and development in a collaborative team-based environment
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering or other business-related field
  • Strong cross-functional, team-based experience
  • Proven record of executing, organizing, managing, and prioritizing projects
