Role/Responsibilities
MIS Commercial Product Management is seeking a result driven AVP Product Manager to join our team. A successful candidate must have a strong mix of strategy, technical and creative acumen, is very detailed-oriented, and enjoys working collaboratively.
The AVP Product Manager will own various aspects of the MIS product suite with particular focus on listening to the voice of the customer and translating that into product and process enhancements that support an excellent customer experience.
The AVP Product Manager is responsible for owning various Commercial products through the Product Lifecycle with accountability to:
- Create product vision and strategy to align with MIS objectives and gather support from internal stakeholders.
- Gain a deep understanding of the customer experience, identify opportunities to enhance products to improve that experience.
- Lead projects focused on sourcing ideas for new products and product enhancements. Participate in ongoing discovery activities that will require internal/external stakeholder relationship building.
- Participate in market assessments and own portions of business case development for new product ideas.
- Engage with leadership from various stakeholders to prioritize product aspects needing improvement, develop business cases and gather support to implement changes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive implementation in an agile manner.
- Conclude product risk assessments and conduct periodic reviews.
- Participate on large data-driven projects focused on creating a consistent and positive customer onboarding experience.
- Demonstrate expert understanding of the MIS product suite and provide day-to-day support to Relationship Managers on product related matters.
- Build internal and external relationships to lead/support product management activities.
- Deliver training to various stakeholders within MIS.
- Participate in supporting specialized customer product-related needs and supporting execution of the bespoke customer request process.
- Participate in reporting product performance and new product pipeline to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
Analytic knowledge/Product Management:
- Product Management experience.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean principles.
- Comfortable working with large datasets.
Customer Focus:
- Strong communication skills with ability to cultivate strong relationships across a network of internal functions and external customers.
- Champion an excellent customer experience.
Process Improvement:
- Translate customer needs into product and process improvements.
- Comfortable in an agile operating environment.
- Focus on outcomes based on clear KPIs.
Collaboration:
- Build enduring relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to influence small groups towards positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) required.
- 5 years of experience in Product Management/Project Management or similar discipline.
- Experience in process design/improvement/optimization, and/or systems thinking.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma and lean principles.
- Project Management experience managing complex cross-functional projects highly beneficial.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Self-starter with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Problem solving ability and must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communications skills required
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and prioritize workload based on management direction.
- Travel required: 0 - 5% and may include international travel

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $113,800 to $165,100, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
