JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Enterprise Data Platform Product Manager, you will lead the strategy, development, and delivery of Ford's Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), focusing on key capabilities such as Data Ingestion and Data Curation, with an eye toward creating enterprise scalable and reusable applications and services. You will play a critical role in enabling Ford's data-driven initiatives by providing a scalable, secure, and robust data platform that serves various business units and functions. This role requires a strong understanding of data platforms, product management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the platform meets the needs of the organization while aligning with Ford's strategic objectives.

• Develop and articulate the product vision for the Enterprise Data Platform, aligning it with Ford's broader data and digital transformation goals. Products in scop include Enterprise ingestion patterns and tools, Curation patterns and tools and platform optimization related to data products created by your products.
• Define and drive the product roadmap, ensuring it reflects the evolving needs of the business, technological advancements, and market trends.
• Prioritize platform features and enhancements based on customer feedback, data-driven insights, and business impact.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders across various business units (e.g., Engineering, Analytics, IT, Security, Compliance) to understand their data needs and translate them into platform features.
• Manage relationships with senior leadership, providing regular updates on platform progress, challenges, and opportunities.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.

• Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, data science, etc.) in the design, development, and deployment of the Enterprise Data Platform.
• Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable, capable of handling diverse data types, large volumes, and complex workloads.
• Oversee the implementation of key features such as data ingestion, democratized landing and curation, simplification of end user on-boarding and optimization of platform resources.
• Drive the integration of AI/ML capabilities into the platform to enhance data processing, analysis, and insights.

• Identify and implement cost optimization strategies for the platform, including resource management, infrastructure utilization, and data storage solutions.
• Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to manage the platform budget, ensuring cost efficiency while delivering high-value features.

• Design and implement user onboarding and training programs to increase platform adoption across the organization.
• Gather and analyze user feedback to continuously improve the platform's usability, performance, and feature set.
• Develop documentation, guides, and best practices to support users in effectively leveraging the platform for their data needs.

• Ensure the platform meets all regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly in areas such as data privacy, security, and governance.
• Work closely with the security team to implement robust security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring.

• Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in data platforms, cloud computing, and big data to drive innovation.
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team, fostering innovation and experimentation to keep the platform at the forefront of industry standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably within data platforms, cloud services, or enterprise software.
• Strong understanding of data architectures, big data technologies, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance in an enterprise environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
