Position Overview:
As a Product Manager of our School Bus Stop Arm (SBSA) product at Verra Mobility, you will collaborate with a global team of passionate innovators to engage customers and partners, identify market opportunities, and develop next-generation Automated Safety and Mobility enforcement solutions that deliver long-term value. You will be responsible for gathering market intelligence, shaping market perspectives, and working with internal development teams to envision new services. Your role will involve documenting high-level requirements for products and features, proposing strategies for build/buy/partner decisions, crafting business cases for market opportunities, and developing the necessary tools to commercialize Verra Mobility’s solutions. Additionally, you will support Sales and Client Services teams in defining requirements for customized hardware and software solutions for some of the largest municipal Police Departments (PDs) and Departments of Transportation (DOTs) in the country.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Develop a deep understanding of the competitive environment, as well as the market to understand market issues, opportunities, and requirements. Develop plans to successfully navigate the business.
- Gather voice of customer insights in partnership with the Customer Success team and Client Success Organization.Â
- Drive the success of multiple product lines by partnering with stakeholders, aligning on a product strategy and deliver measurable results that solve our customer problems.Â
- Define new product and service solutions for current customers while also planning new adjacent solutions for the business. Â
- Utilize business cases to help drive and prioritize the roadmap
- Maintain a multi quarter product roadmapÂ
- Collaborate with technology team to define technology roadmap including architectural update and enhancements.Â
- Deliver product and service releases on-time and on-budget utilizing a structured processÂ
- Work with Engineering teams to identify, design and build scalable platform components that win in the marketÂ
- Collaborate with program management to drive successful launchesÂ
- Serve as the expert on our products and service, support the development of customer facing collateral for effective communicationsÂ
- Define, track, and elevate key metrics and success criteria to ensure offering success post launchÂ
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Support teams to drive revenue, profit and engagement from all revenue channelÂ
Competencies and SkillsÂ
- Proven track record of successful product / service portfolio management with a focus in the following areas preferred:Â
- Driver Safety SolutionsÂ
- School Bus Stop ArmÂ
- IoT platformsÂ
- Smart CitiesÂ
- Collaborated with product development for software-as-a-service solutionsÂ
- Experience performing market studies, competitive analysis, and voice of the customer research including:
- Conducting customer needs research, competitive analysis, market studies; andÂ
- Identifying product value proposition and market differentiation.Â
- Technical understanding of basic building blocks such as mobile telecommunications, Cloud technology, IoT mobile and embedded operating systems, etc, preferred.Â
- Capability to think commercially to drive business cases, product pricing and packaging strategies and margin improvement.Â
- Proven competency in project management, ideally in an agile environmentÂ
- Successfully interfaced with customer/sales facing teams Built and delivered compelling B2G (City, County, State) or B2B go-to-market strategies preferredÂ
- Experience in commercialization of solutions, preferred.Â
Individual QualificationsÂ
- 3-5 yrs. As product manager in small to medium sized company. Start-up experience preferred.Â
- BA/BS Degree requiredÂ
- MBA is highly preferredÂ
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesÂ
- Strong business acumen requiredÂ
- Strong customer focus Â
- Strategic thinking Self-motivation, curious about best practice and solutions driven Â
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Â
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skillsÂ

- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standardsÂ
- Moderate travel required (15-20%)Â
