We are looking for a Product Area Lead for our Learn and Develop area within the POS alliance. The area is responsible for our insights, reporting and customer products and is key for our future growth plans within the PayPal product ecosystem.

Job Description:

Your area has been given a strong degree of autonomy to develop services, APIs and features that will lead to stronger buyer connections which also benefit PayPal's omni-payment strategy. 

As an area lead in Zettle you are responsible for setting the strategic development for the Learn and Develop product area that has multiple teams.   You will collaborate with your design and tech counterparts to ensure the area is successful in achieving the stated outcomes that you will define. You will also be a Product Manager in one of the teams.

Communication:  


You own the definition, boundary and plan for your product. Within the Zettle Tech-Product-Design organisation you will work closely with teams and leaders within each respective craft, together defining the how.  

In detail : 

  • Supporting the continuous update of plans and priorities for your area based on input from stakeholders, area counterparts in tech and design, data/user insights and Alliance leadership.   

  • Understand, collaborate, promote with other Area Leads/PM's within the POS alliance making sure you know how your area fits in bigger picture as well as what is happening in other areas and alliances 

Vision, strategy and prioritisation:  


We need Zettle to be as efficient and innovative as possible. High quality, constantly improving and compliant platforms helps enable that. You need to know “what is important” and contribute to making the right high-level choices. You should have skills and experience to quickly establish your own idea of what is important.  

In detail :  

  • Breaking down company level strategy towards your area, building the value proposition, vision and mission, strategy and long-term plan and priorities for your area. 

  • Leading product domain strategy and program execution in order to inspire and influence 

  • Work closely with your tech and design counterparts within the area to ensure successful execution of the strategy.   Collaboration between the area leads is essential to ensure that the teams are being driven to be outcome focussed. 

  • Defining and communicating KPI’s and strategy for your area together with your Tech and Design counterparts. 

Grow yourself and the team:  


You should have the self-confidence and insight to know that you are not always right and that things change. This job is an ever-ongoing journey of dialog, discovery and learning with technical experts and other stakeholders.   

In detail : 

  • Managing and developing Product Managers.  Proactively building and monitoring a career development plan for your Areas Product Managers.  

  • You are responsible for building the Product chapter for your area and providing regular feedback for Product Managers.  

  • Supporting Product Managers in your area by removing impediments, helping PM's to break down area level KPI/OKR/North Star to team level KPI’s. 

Partner management: 

Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with relevant partners in your space. Maintain a strong point of view on what is best for the users and for Zettle.  

In detail : 

  • Keep Alliance Leadership and area cross-functional teams informed and updated on what is ongoing and what is upcoming to ensure alignment 

  • Help with stakeholder management. Make sure PM's are offloaded wherever is required 

 

The skills that set you apart    

  • Experience working with financial services, understanding and communicating with legal and compliance teams to create the best solution.   

  • Systems thinking, you should care for exploring and clarifying how things work - both in our systems and in our organisation.   

  • Experience with high-speed product and platform development in a growing organisation.  

  • Cares about agile software processes, data-driven development (hypothesis based on data and user interviews), and responsible experimentation.  

  • Excellent analytical skills with strong technical understanding and experience with metrics-driven work.  

  • Exceptional communication (spoken/written English) and presentation skills. Ability to speak fluently to engineering, design, commercial and partner stakeholders. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and happy to work in a team environment.
