What we need:

The Product Manager supports the development of a strategic plan and the execution of a comprehensive portfolio plan for all assigned category offerings. Works in close cooperation with Marketing, Sales, and R D teams for the purpose of maximizing sales profitability under the supervision of the Senior Product Manager responsible for Benchtop Technology and Desktop Software.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the development and implementation of a long term product Roadmap with a strong focus on New Product Development, Feature Development and Portfolio Strategy that manages the long term health of the portfolio. This includes full life cycle management of the portfolio and all products offered in the category.
  • Work closely with clients, product managers, stakeholders, and executives to define product vision, business goals, client, and end user needs and how these will be met by proposed software releases to ensure maximum business value.
  • Gathers and analyzes customer insights via Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Market Research resulting in better products and software meeting diverse customer needs and developing more accurate business cases.
  • Work hand in hand with Sales and customers to develop Scope of Works and customer proposals
  • Evangelize and drive creation of the future of inter-connected products and services across the organization
  • Contribute to daily scrums, retrospectives and sprint reviews
  • Review and approve all completed stories during sprint showcases for each team involved with the roadmap you manage
  • Gather knowledge about the competitive environment that drives action to Sales, Marketing and R D.
  • Work with product managers, stakeholders, and development teams to prioritize investments, product requirements, and portfolio interdependencies
  • Ensure consistency across product lines and shared problem-solving between teams working on interdependent projects
  • Manage and track the financials and mitigate risk for the team
  • Spend time in the market to understand the opportunities or issues, and find innovative solutions
  • Continuously monitor market trends, customer and user needs, and competitors
  • Work with Product Managers on product launches, internal and external product trainings
  • Anticipate internal and external business challenges or opportunities; recommend process, product or service improvements
  • Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferably in Engineering, Marketing, or Computer Science)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in product management, marketing, sales, software development, or engineering
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong sense of personal and professional accountability
  • Experience with requirements gathering and prioritization
  • Ability to interact with both internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Analytical abilities to quantify opportunities from both an external market and internal P L viewpoint, as well as strategic positioning
  • Up to 20% travel, international and domestic
