Product Manager (Cloud Video Surveillance Platform)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking to add a Product Manager II to our growing Alarm.com Video team, where you will be able to collaborate with engineering (infrastructure, firmware, software, and quality), marketing, and support teams to deliver innovative video solutions and enhance operations of our

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your job responsibilities will include:

• Becoming the product expert and liaison on products that manage our fleet of IoT video devices including firmware management systems,  communication systems (VPN, MQTT, CoAP), device supervision and monitoring systems.
• Manage the roadmap and product vision for internal tools and features to serve our video surveillance team.
• Driving the end-to-end product development lifecycle for new tools and infrastructure working with engineering and quality teams.
• Researching and understanding internal stakeholders needs in engineering, quality, product and support teams.
• Managing the process of monitoring the ongoing health of millions of IoT video devices.
• Partnering with engineering, support, sales, and high-profile partners to investigate and resolve issues with IoT video devices.
• Conducting market research – monitoring the evolving marketplace of IoT management solutions
• Synthesizing research to drive product strategy and decision making
• Championing enhancements to existing products
• Technical project management (50% of duties) to ensure delivery of platform updates

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum B.S. or B.A. from a competitive school with strong academic performance
• 2-6 years of experience
• Previous experience working with cloud software systems and infrastructure
• Previous experience working with IoT device management systems (preferred)
• Previous experience managing technology product lifecycle (preferably for software platforms)
• Previous experience with customer interviews and managing customer feedback
• Previous experience providing communicating requirements to engineering teams and managing requirements modifications during product development
• Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking abilities including statistical analysis
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for consumer technology and interest in developing a deep understanding of complex products and technologies
• Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• General knowledge of business, economics and/or finance
• Experience in Computer Networking (including Wi-Fi), IP Video recording, Video Analytics, Machine Learning, Computer programming
• Exposure to the following areas is a plus: UI Design, voice applications, cellular/wireless technology, Smart home automation, Cloud infrastructure management.
