As Marqeta’s Product Manager - Compliance, you will be responsible for converting global bank and regulatory requirements into fraud and risk products.  You will partner with cross-functional teams such as Compliance, Legal, Bank Partners, and Risk Operations to synthesize compliance policies into new-generation SaaS products. You will also be working with customers to understand their needs and ensure they are at the center of product development.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States. We’d love for you to join us!

What You’ll Do

  • Work with diverse internal teams and customers to understand payment card programs from the lens of compliance, with a specific emphasis on AML, fraud, and risk;
  • Work closely with our Know Your Customer (KYC) Operations team to ensure product features, controls, and processes are aligned with bank requirements and regulations 
  • Provide support and guidance to Marqeta customers, working closely with them to develop risk and compliance strategies
  • Convert product roadmap into requirements; Work with engineering team to execute on those requirements; Launch new products and features;
  • Define product metrics and monitor performance; Leverage data to drive decisioning making
  • Provide subject matter expertise to identify and define business needs and requirements to support the development and implementation of future operational/technical risk solutions;
  • Enable a delightful customer experience, Have a customer first approach;
  • Participate in project definition and idea generation, work on collaborative projects with partners across the globe with a focus on the Risk/Fraud mitigation;

What we are looking for

  • 2-5 years of experience in product management and development; experience in launching products to market;
  • Knowledge of current and emerging payment systems and banking regulation/supervision within the US, Canada, Australia, and UK/EU, and in particular AML regulation;
  • Good understanding of data analysis and visualization tools that may include, but are not limited to, Structured Query Language (SQL), Python (or R), and Tableau (or Looker)
  • Bachelor degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or other quantitative field;
  • Proven track record of applying analytical/statistical methods, rule writing, and testing to actualize real-world, data-driven problem solving;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment requiring a high degree of personal accountability, quality, accuracy, integrity and trust;
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment;
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization, as well as senior executives and customers;
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to build partnerships and alliances internally and with external partners at all levels of the organization

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience in payments, fraud and risk domain
  • CAMS, CFE, CFCS, or equivalent certification(s)
  • Advanced degree in Business, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or other quantitative field;

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National: $88,125 - $117,500
  • Premium: $99,150 - $132,200
  • Premium Plus: $110,138 - $146,850
