Product Manager - Cybersecurity & IT Education

Jones & Bartlett Learning is looking to add an experienced Product Manager to our Cybersecurity & IT product team. The Product Manager will own the strategy and direction for an education product portfolio, responsible for the creation and execution of educational products from idea to market to ongoing adoption, usage and profitability.

This product management position defines, launches, and builds profitable products and ensures they are developed to the needs and specifications for the higher education and professional development markets. The Product Manager is responsible for the achievement of growth objectives including revenues, market share, and ROI.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine customer requirements for educational products by conducting research needed to obtain market information relevant to product development and revision.
• Drive the overall execution of product lifecycle management including strategy, development, launch, and maintenance of products/solutions in specified markets as leader of a cross functional business team.
• Own the product roadmaps, including revision schedules, feature enhancements, maintenance, and innovation.
• Develop virtual computer labs for educational program, in collaboration with lab architects and content strategists
• Coordinate pricing for products and solutions in consideration of the strategy to ensure profitable growth.
• Lead cross-functional efforts on internal and external product message, marketing materials, and product launch.
• Identify and cultivate partnerships and other business development opportunities to enhance the portfolio and drive revenue.
• Act as product champion in cross-functional teams to ensure delivery and implementation of products to meet revenue and customer satisfaction goals.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience.
• Industry certification in Cybersecurity, is preferred.
• Three to five years of demonstrated success in a product management, editorial, marketing, or product development role for higher education and/or professional development.
• Experience in a cybersecurity or IT-related field, is a plus.
• Experience in developing and managing computer or virtual labs, is highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Proven ability to research and understand the targeted markets, customers, and competition in the education and professional development markets.
• Critically and objectively analyze market needs, pain points, and desires in a concise and compelling fashion.
• Ability to understand market and customer needs and translate those needs into viable product solutions.
• Proven ability to create computer lab environments for educational program/courses.
• Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including developers, marketers, sales, and support.
