Product Manager, Data Engineering

Data and data capabilities will be a key basis of advantage for ResMed moving forward. Our customer focused, patient-centric and digitally enabled 2025 corporate strategy relies on the value that can be created with data. A fundamental enabler of our data strategy is the development and operations of a scalable data ecosystem centered around a cloud-native data lake.

The Data Lake Product Manager is responsible for defining the multi-year strategy, roadmaps, priorities and the growth of the cloud-native data lake. This will involve significant stakeholder engagement across many different parts of ResMed including data science, patient and provider product management, architecture, delivery management, data operations and analytics. The product manager will act as the go-to single point of contact for all teams seeking to integrate, access and develop new data use cases to better serve patients, customers and internal stakeholders.

• Support the development of data-driven products to improve the lives of millions of patients
• Translate customer business needs into product strategy and technology requirements as part of market and product requirements for ResMed's Data Lake
• Key to ResMed learning more about our patients and providers / customers so we can serve them better
• Key to understanding where value is leaking and value creation opportunities exist across ResMed, so we can be more productive and efficient
• Collaboratively develop and evolve the planning, scoping, and prioritization processes for data lake relevant initiatives to meet requirements of stakeholders
• Effectively manage conflicts of priorities through the development of value-based criteria
• Evangelize for the product through in-person and virtual presentations and engagements
• Prioritize development activities with data engineering teams to continuously deliver value to customers
• Develop, lead, and communicate product strategy, including the objectives, initiatives, and roadmap to all internal key team members
• Collaborate with leadership and stakeholder groups to formulate a longer-term strategy
• Develop processes with Data Operations team across Europe, Asia and Americas
• Facilitate collaboration and represent the team with partners and stakeholders across other teams to align resources and prioritization
• Ensures the right work is brought into the team backlog by understanding stakeholder needs, and validate hypotheses (rejects or prioritizes work as needed)
• Promote enterprise-wide adoption of ResMed's data lake (mosaIQ) and educate team on applications and use-cases
• Articulates functional details to developers based on customer requirements
• Foster an environment that enables the mosaIQ Data Engineering team to build quickly while maintaining a high standard for quality
• Work with delivery management to deliver on schedules

Let's talk about qualifications and experience:

• 5+ years of product management experience
• 5+ years of experience with data platforms, monitoring, analytics, machine learning, and/or data visualization
• Deep understanding of data platform market, trends, and competitive landscape
• Working knowledge of AWS products and services
• Experience as a product manager for cloud-native data products
• Experience working in the healthcare industry or regulated environment with understanding of HIPAA, GDPR and data privacy requirements
• Provide the ability to set a vision, define product strategy, and drive alignment across multiple teams
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong desire to take ownership of the full product lifecycle
• A strong teammate who is able to lead and support cross-functional teams
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with firewalls, networking, and/or security products is a plus but not required
• BS in a technical field (e.g. EE. CS); MBA desirable
