Product Manager - Design Systems Ecosystems
Job Description
Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, create, test, and ship better designs, together. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!
We’re looking for a product manager to lead the product work on Design Systems Ecosystems – a crucial part of Figma usage for any company with a design system. We want to build the best possible experience for design system managers and designers who use the design systems enabled by Figma. Design Systems play a critical role in improving design efficiency within large design organizations, and Figma has one of the leading Design Systems offerings in the industry.Â
The Design System Ecosystems team exists to acknowledge that design systems are more than just the creation & usage of components in Figma, but rather an ecosystem of tools and ideas, which together help organizations, and individuals beyond designers, build more cohesive products (much) faster. As the Product Manager for the DS Ecosystems team, you will work on making Figma the central hub for browsing and consuming design systems. Whether tokens, components, and documentation are maintained within Figma, code, or a third party tool, users should feel confident that they can easily & quickly find it all in Figma.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma- Develop a strategy and vision for DS documentation and libraries on Figma
- Work closely with designers and engineers to define feature functionality and execute the roadmapÂ
- Do all the things you'd expect in a PM, like driving planning and prioritization, defining and tracking key metrics, collaborating on marketing, messaging, positioning, and go-to-market plans
- Grow your career in an engaged, creative, and thoughtful community.
- Browsing and managing complex libraries
- Design systems documentation
- Design Systems analytics tools
- Publishing and subscribing to design systems
- You have experience successfully leading complex, user-facing product launches
- You’re familiar with what design systems are, and the role they play within product design teams.
- You have deep user empathy and the ability to build relationships with key customers
- You’re an excellent verbal and written communicator. You’re able to zoom in and out effortlessly based on the audience. You can rally and motivate a team behind a bold vision
- Love building complex tools and workflows that balance power and flexibility with ease of use.
- Have an eye for the details, both in terms of user experience and the technical nuances.
- Can balance user research, data analysis, your team’s input, and your instincts in the decision making process.
- Have an affinity for the fast-paced, changing environment of a start-up, a sense of humor and get-it-done personality
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
We will work to ensure individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please let your recruiter know if you require accommodation.
About Figma
Dylan Field and Evan Wallace co-founded Figma in 2012 with the vision of building tools for designers in the browser. Their goal was to create the first design tool that combined the accessibility of the Web with the functionality of a native app. Today Figma is a platform with tools and spaces to support the entire product development process—idea to design to build—and has simplified collaboration for companies like Microsoft, Uber, and The New York Times to name a few.
At Figma, we celebrate and support our differences. We know employing a team rich in diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions allows our employees, products, and community to flourish. Figma is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national orientation, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.
By applying for this job, the candidate acknowledges and agrees that any personal data contained in their application or supporting materials will be processed in accordance with the applicable candidate section of Figma's Privacy Policy.Â
