POLITCO is looking for a motivated and inquisitive product manager for E&E News, a POLITICO publication that covers energy and environmental policy for professionals.

The product manager will lead projects under the guidance of the Product Director including feature scoping, writing requirements, testing and delivery, as well as identifying future projects. The product manager will help maintain an understanding of target users and buyers in coordination with other teams, utilizing data analysis, surveys and feedback groups.

The ideal candidate will be creative, flexible and organized with excellent communication and time management skills. Candidate must be able to build positive relationships with key stakeholders, coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of new digital products and/or enhanced digital product features. Help communicate new product features to Sales, Marketing and customers.
  • Work with stakeholders, project managers, developers and QA to perform user acceptance testing, define requirements, create and update documentation, coordinate meetings and provide project updates.
  • Analyze usage data and customer feedback to help identify, scope and prioritize future features.
  • Identify and track critical project milestones, including MVP and key feature metrics and goals.
  • Maintain product backlogs. Work with the Product Director to prioritize features and manage roadmap changes in line with the core product vision, business priorities and sales strategies.
  • Be the point-of-contact for stakeholders to ask product questions and issues from throughout the business. Identify when an issue requires additional input or escalation and quickly create bug tickets as needed.


What You'll Need:

  • Pro-active and creative problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience writing acceptance criteria or product requirements and with ticketing software such as JIRA
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience working with cross-functional teams including directly with developers
  • Background/Interest in politics & policy, energy, environment and/or media space a plus
  • Familiarity with CMS, such as BrightSpot, and WalkMe or other digital adoption products a plus
