About Trust & Safety
Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

As a Product Manager, GenAI Safety in our Trust and Safety division, you will be responsible for designing safety strategies for GenAI products and features across ByteDance, including TikTok. You are responsible for building and optimizing GenAI safety capabilities as well as reducing the risk levels for GenAI applications. To do so, you will cooperate with different AI business teams and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders across the Trust and Safety division.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.
This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

What will I be doing?
- Be responsible for the overall content safety of ByteDance GenAI products globally
- Build GenAI safety capabilities, and reduce the risk level of GenAI applications
- Conduct risk assessments and design safety strategies for GenAI products and features
- Leverage data and user feedback (both internal and external) to solve online safety risks, and continuously optimize safety capabilities
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments in the GenAI space
- Collaborate with Business, RD, Algorithm, Policy, and Operation teams to support business growth

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience; previous experience in engineering, data science, or machine learning, or experience in a Trust & Safety-related role is a big plus
- Strong product design ability; experience working with data; loves working with complex products and ecosystems
- Strong interest in GenAI, large language models, prompt engineering, model training, and GenAI application scenarios
- A go-getter attitude that proactively responds to and tackles business challenges
- Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and expertise in content moderation and quality, safety & abuse, and other safety-related initiatives.
- Experience in project management with cross-function teams, across different time zones, cultures and languages.
