Job Description
Fearless is looking for a Product Manager I to add to our diverse team of 250+ employees (and counting!).
The Product Manager I (PdM I) serves our clients as a proxy product owner on an agile software development team. They support the agile team by having a deep understanding of the end user’s voice and conveying those needs back to the team. The PdM I assists our clients in executing long-term strategies by working with them to gather and understand the business and functional requirements of the product. The PdM l translates requirements into epics and user stories to populate, manage, prioritize, and groom the product backlog. This role partners with strategic leadership and stakeholders to ensure the development team carries out the most successful vision, strategy, objectives, and goals. The PdM I also acts as the end user's voice, gaining a deep understanding of their needs and representing them to the development team.
Responsibilities and ContributionsÂOrganizational and Leadership RoleÂ
- Collaborates directly with the scrum master, agile development team, client stakeholders, and end users to build a useful and reliable product.
- Effectively communicates objectives and requirements to the development team, as well as functional limitations to the business stakeholders..Â
- Gathers, implements, validates, and documents business and functional requirements..Â
- Translates requirements into user stories and epics
- Prioritizes, manages, and grooms the product backlogÂ
- Develops the acceptance criteria, the definition of done, and value proposition for epics and user stories
- Assists in the creation of the product roadmap to help clients strategize, prioritize, and execute short and long-range plans
- Effectively manages client stakeholder communication and expectations
- Partners with stakeholders to establish a shared understanding of Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
- Serves as a product management subject matter expert for the client, development team, and scrum master
- Participates in and occasionally leads user acceptance testing
Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager with agile methodologiesÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to internal and external audiences.
- Product Management subject matter expertise
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate and manage work, build relationships, and influence others
- Experience working with product management tools and ticketing systems such as Jira, GitLab, Trello, and Confluence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace/G Suite
- Experience working with or on an agile software development team and strong knowledge of agile practices and processÂ
Icing-on-the-Cake SkillsÂ
- Experience consulting in product management
- Product management experience in local, state or federal government contracting and/or consulting
- Experience coaching and/or training internal and external audiences in product management best practices

Our approach to compensation is intended to ensure our total package serves all of your needs and includes base pay, medical and other benefits, performance rewards, 401k matching, plus a few perks (tech and wellness reimbursement programs)!
Our salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location and provide team members salary growth within a salary grade over time. Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.
The salary ranges for this position based on location are listed below. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified as a part of our annual salary range review.
- AL, FL, GA, TN Residents:Â $81,946 (min) - $104,482 (mid) - $127,017 (max)
- NC Residents: $84,481 (min) - $107,713 (mid) - $130,945 (max)
- DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $88,705 (min) - $113,099 (mid) - $137,493 (max)
- DC Residents: $99,687 (min) - $127,101 (mid) - $154,515 (max)
- CA & NY Residents:Â $103,067 (min) - $131,410 (mid) - $159,753 (max)
Within the range, starting pay for team members is based on the evaluation of the alignment with the position description requirements including job-related skills and experience or training. This range reflects your earning potential over the course of your career at Fearless in this position.
