The Lower Extremity Product Manager is responsible for marketing strategies required to drive revenue growth in the highly competitive Foot and Ankle Market. The Product Manager will work closely with Product Development, Sales Teams, Clinical, Quality, Supply Chain, Medical Education, and Sales Training to implement effective marketing tactics and drive portfolio strategy and commercial execution.
Responsibilities:
• Develop understanding of the lower extremity market landscape: market trends, customer priorities, and competitive landscape to shape our go to market approach
• Project management of global marketing activities such as ongoing assessment of new technologies, market research, marketing plan/buying process, product positioning and segmentation, pricing strategy, and global financial valuations
• Marketing lead for NPD process to drive marketing deliverables to completion. Maintain product progress through key NPD milestones and the launch of new products. Includes:
• Collaborate with customers to drive user needs in the NPD process
• Work with cross-functional team to meet milestones to ensure timely product launches
• Communicate project status and challenges and make recommendations for swift and appropriate resolution.
• Develop relevant financial analysis and plans
• Lead launch planning and execution activities
• Builds partnerships with supply chain, operations, product development, quality, regulatory, etc. to ensure alignment on priorities, realistic assessment of capabilities, and proactive prioritization/allocation of shared resources.
• Provide technical product support
• Establish ongoing customer feedback mechanisms and use the information to make continuous improvements (e.g. regional input, global customer advisory groups)
• Perform global pricing analysis and set cost of good and pricing strategy
• Craft segmentation and product positioning with targeted value propositions
• Define and implement effective targeting, develop physician champions, and gather input to drive marketing decisions
• Supports industry meetings and events, customer meetings and labs, and other strategic meetings.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure revenue objectives are met. Specific deliverables may include:
• Develop/maintain forecast planning for inventory requirements
• Develop/recommend product portfolio marketing strategies to achieve revenue, profitability a and market share objectives
• Liaise with other business units and divisions to leverage new and existing product technologies to maximize sales

• Willingness to "roll up sleeves" to perform at all levels and assist in areas outside of core responsibilities
• Understanding of competitive products and go to market models is a plus
Experience:
2-5 years demonstrated marketing experience preferably in the orthopaedic or related medical device market.
This position reports to the Smith+Nephew Trauma and Extremities Division which is headquartered in Memphis, TN.
Travel Requirements: up to 30%
