Job Description

As the Mobile Product Manager at Cover Whale, you will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing the challenges faced by our insurance agents, policyholders, and truck drivers. By collaborating with various teams within the organization, including engineers, data scientists, and commercial teams, you will develop solutions to provide the industry-best user experiences for all our customers.

In this role, you will be the greatest proponent of Cover Whale's many customer user personas, analyzing data and research to synthesize insights and translate them into concrete, actionable plans. You will be a key player in shaping the future of the insurance industry user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of product lifecycle processes for all mobile features, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, requirements development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
  • Ensure work is broken down into larger top-level items ("epics"), stories and sub-tasks using best practices and size estimates applied
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, finance, marketing, customer success and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization
  • Create exceptional digital experiences for our customers and users by utilizing customer feedback and data to drive product development and work cross-functionality to deliver world-class digital products.

Please note: This is an on-site role with the requirement to be in the office 4 times per week.

The expected base pay for the role will be between $147,000-$165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonus and other Cover Whale-sponsored total rewards/benefits.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, an advanced degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager for digital products, preferably with mobile apps
  • Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is a plus

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  • Strong experience in a dynamic product management role
  • Deep working knowledge of Product Manager techniques & processes: such as prioritization, backlog management, qualitative and quantitative analysis, user research and stakeholder management
  • Comfortable making progress autonomously, and working alongside subject matter experts in other crafts (such as engineering, data science, UX research, business, operations)
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product development with high velocity and quality
  • Insurance, Reinsurance or Finance domain knowledge - Advantage
  • Passionate, team-oriented problem solver who understands and differentiates between what users want vs. what they need
  • Highly effective cross-functional team management
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
