Product Manager (REMOTE)
Job Description
*If candidate is local to our New Rochelle office, there is a possibility of going into the office 3x a week for the first month or two, and then in office 1x a week,*
Position Purpose
As Product Manager, you will help oversee the development of new online educational products, from inception to launch, for assigned applications within a larger platform. You will collaborate with UX designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create innovative, customer-focused products meant to enhance teacher instruction and enrich the student learning experience.
Duties and Responsibilities• Oversee the development and planning for new digital products and for existing print products that need a digital presence• Conceptualize user experience from a student, educator, and administrator's perspective• Utilize user research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder input to form a creative vision that provides solutions and clear customer benefit• Act as a mediator between the user and developers, communicating and translating user needs into new product features for the team to design and develop• Identify problems, suggest solutions, and clearly communicate the details required to build the product as conceptualized, including writing high-level requirements• Prioritize user stories for development and maintain a groomed backlog of work and bugs• Track and document digital product through all stages of development• Conduct user acceptance testing on all development work• Train and communicate with other departments on use of digital product• Troubleshoot problems identified by other departments and customers• Present work to senior directors of product management and key stakeholders and executives for review and feedback
Job Requirements/Skills and Experience• A minimum of 2-5 years of digital product management experience in the educational technology industry• An understanding of the needs of teachers, administrators, and Pre-K-8 students, a plus• Knowledge of current education technology trends and capabilities• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously• Ability to independently drive projects to completion• Working knowledge of user experience, user interaction, and responsive design across mobile platforms, devices, and products• Bachelor's Degree• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and JIRA
