About the role:

Enova SMB (Parent company of OnDeck, Headway Capital, and The Business Backer) is looking for a platform product manager to help build our infrastructure for small business lending. Enova’s SMB division powers small business growth in the United States by providing seamless access to capital. In this role, you will be joining our platform team, which supports and enhances our critical infrastructure, including our data/vendor connections, automated credit decisioning and offer generation, fraud analytics and payment operations. SMB operates at scale, and as a result we focus on automation that helps our business run efficiently and provide fast credit decisions and funding to small businesses. 

The internal teams that the Platform team supports includes Analytics (Credit and Fraud), Strategy & Operations, Collections, and Payment Operations. Our diverse team is spread across New York, Chicago and Denver as well as many remote locations. Our team has deep experience and you will have daily learning opportunities about both our business and how to build scalable infrastructure.  On the platform team, our changes have an immediate and observable impact on our business; you will see the gratifying impact of your work on a daily basis.  As you become an expert on our platform, you’ll also be called on to help with troubleshooting operational issues in partnership with the software engineering and other teams.  Additionally, as you grow you’ll have an opportunity to lead cross-functional teams on larger strategic projects.  Taken as a whole, you will help shape the future of our lending platform, and will directly impact our business as we serve hard working small business owners!


What you'll be doing:

  • Partner with leadership of our Analytics, Strategy & Operations, and Software Engineering teams to enhance our internal infrastructure.
  • Drive product roadmaps by collecting internal stakeholder feedback.
  • Work across departments to set requirements and prioritize the backlog.
  • Collaborate with Agile Engineering teams and other Product Managers to deliver innovative features and functionality.
  • Identify new product features and tradeoffs in order to create a competitive advantage for Enova and a best in class customer experience.
  • Partner with Engineering to estimate size, elaborate scope and requirements, clarify detailed design and get sign off on built features before launch.

Key skills and experience to be successful in this role:

  • 2+ years of experience in an Agile product-focused roles including requirements gathering, epic/ticket writing, UAT processes, and stakeholder communications.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical roles, such as software engineering or QA.
  • Aptitude in technical problem solving - understanding data and process flows, and internal and external system integrations.
  • Ability to deal with system complexity and rapidly learn from others.
  • “Can-do” attitude - our team ships 100’s of releases every year and always finds solutions to challenges that initially seem unsolvable.
  • User-centric mindset and drive to deliver the best possible solutions for our internal teams.
  • Data-driven approach to understanding system behavior and discovering and evaluating product opportunities. 
  • Experience with Analytics and SQL.
  • Ability to create and prioritize a product backlog  based on  internal stakeholder needs and business goals.
  • Experience overseeing milestones, communicating project status updates, managing scope changes and defining critical metrics.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate with technical and non-technical teams.

About our Product Management team:

The Product team at Enova is broken down into groups that focus on our Customer, Partner and Internal Experiences, as well as our overall Platform infrastructure. Our PMs work directly with their Business Units, while working closely with the Software Engineering and Analytics teams to collaborate on business objectives.

The Enova SMB Product team builds external products that our end customers, Small Business owners, use to obtain growth capital for their business. We also build internal products that our team members in Marketing, Sales, Operations and more use to provide services to Small Business owners.
