We're looking for a Technical Product Manager to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career.
What You'll Do
The TechOps org provides Flatiron's engineering teams with fast, maintainable, reliable and secure capabilities to continuously evolve Flatiron's products. As a Product Manager, you will help the TechOps org accelerate our ability to learn from the experience of every patient by scaling teams' ability to deliver value that our customers can trust. You will own the roadmap and strategic direction for Flatiron's operational environment, among other platforms. Our platform products are a crucial component of engineering at Flatiron and contribute to the evolution of care for cancer patients.
You will work closely with a cross-functional team of DevOps engineers, SREs and Security Engineers to execute a vision, strategy and roadmap for platforms at Flatiron. In addition, you'll also:
  • Own prioritization, on-time delivery, communicate trade-offs, and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Manage and drive distributed software projects with high technical risk and high coordination complexity
  • Work closely with Flatiron product managers, engineers, site reliability engineers and security engineers to gather product feedback and requirements that inform your roadmap and strategy
  • Communicate and evangelize the capabilities and value of Flatiron's platform capabilities to engineering and business stakeholders
  • Contribute to the culture of product as a disciple in partnership with other TechOps Product Managers, and Engineering counterparts.

Who You Are
You're a Product Manager with at least 3 years of experience in developer experience, data processing, or systems development environments. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful, and sometimes ambiguous, problems each and every day. You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to grow and make an important impact.
  • You have BA/BS degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • You have strong project management skills and excellent organizational and communication skills
  • You have a strong understanding of software projects' development, roll-out, and support risks
  • You have hands-on experience as a software engineer, devops engineer, or building products directly for developers
  • You have strong technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks
  • You are able to make critical decisions regarding product, architecture, and technology stack.
  • You have a willingness to dive deep into the subject matter and become a cloud architecture expert
  • You are able to effectively debate and probe with engineering
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You can communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and empathetic manner, ensuring customer comprehension and satisfaction

Where You'll Work
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and 2-3 office days set by you and your team with the option of being Flex or Office. For more information on our approach to hybrid work as well as our work type options, please visit the how we work website.
