Product Marketing Management Specialist
Purpose of the Role:
The Travel Office IT Product Marketing in Americas role is responsible for providing regional market expertise and local commercial and launch readiness activities.
Our mission in Product Marketing is to ensure that we create products that our customers love and recommend. To achieve this, we need to understand market dynamics including industry trends, traveler trends and competitive landscape. In close collaboration with commercial colleagues, as well as through market research & direct interaction with customers, we ensure Product Managers understand what the Travel sellers' needs and translate them into actionable inputs for product evolution related to Front office, Automation & Travel Intelligence.
Product Marketing Managers are also responsible for successful launch of our products, by developing the necessary sales enablers (pricing, promotion, launch strategy)
Main Responsibilities:
Understand Market & Customers
- Describe the regional market dynamics: trends, regulations, addressable market
- Describe the competitive landscape and potential impact on product strategy with upcoming changes
- Understand the end-to-end customer flows with Travel Office IT Products
- Describe local market needs and functional requirements to Product Managers (e.g., solution, feature, value prop, messaging), take into consideration ARC regional specificities
- Recommend product messaging, positioning, and go-to-market approach
- Define how products fit into the full value proposition
Develop Product Strategy
- Work with customers and regional stakeholders to identify innovation opportunities
- Provide market input in the Product Life Cycle: high-level requirements, initial as-is to-be journey, regional business case, partner consideration, go-to-market plan, etc
- Provide regular updates about Product requirements in the backlog and product roadmap
- Drive product pricing assessment and billing model checks at regional level, collaborating with Product Managers and commercial organization to ensure the right pricing in the market
- Support partnership strategy and selection (e.g., redlines, functionality, business model and financials)
Customer Discovery
- Identify and communicate impact of changes in product roadmap as relates to value prop and messaging
- Develop expertise based on industry's trends (e.g. industry events, Product Advisory Boards etc.)
Iterative Development
- Offer feedback from a regional requirements point of view on specific iterations to the PMs
Measure and scale Product & Market readiness
- Ensure product and go-to-market readiness for Americas from planning to delivery
- Create and maintain external product features and use case descriptions
- Create market-facing messaging, consistent with value prop and go-to-market strategy
- Conduct feature localization based on market needs and regulatory restrictions and content/language localization
- Drive communications and upskilling programs to sales organization (GTM process definition needed)
- Provide inputs to:
- * Sales, so that Sales can develop action plans for the products/features to be released
- * Marketing, so that Marketing can create relevant campaigns, collateral and sales enablement
- * Customer Success and Customer Support, to ensure they are informed and ready for new launches
- * Knowledge management, to handle customer trainings (internal training supported by PMM)
- Ensure alignment with stakeholders on go-to-market plan at market level
- Monitor product adoption and measure success of PMM activities in the region, put in place corrective actions when needed
Requirements:
Education: Masters Degree (MBA or MSc), or Bachelor Degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience:
- At Least 5 years in a product management, product marketing, pre-sales or IT sales position within the travel industry, preferably within the travel agency environment.
- Good functional knowledge of some Amadeus Front Offices, Automation & Travel Intelligence
products, such as Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Ticket Changer, Robotics, Amadeus Air & Fare Preferences, Amadeus Agency Insights.
15-20% Travel required
Business understanding:
Good understanding of travel industry, travel agency operations and Amadeus business and operating models. Developed internal and external network
Good up-to-date knowledge of market dynamics and traveler behaviors. Curious about the customers and technology evolution.
Good understanding of problem discovery, sales enablement, product lifecycle management, and product strategy.
Positive and collaborative attitude, proactive and growth mindset
Good written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
Computing skills: Expertise at Microsoft Office
Languages: Fluent in English required. Spanish or French speaking preferred.
