The Product Marketing team within BILL is the driving force behind getting products to market and growing their impact on customers and the business. We represent the voice of the customer - before, during and after launch, articulate a product’s value in a way that resonates with customers and differentiates vis-a-vis the competition, and drive product adoption, retention, and advocacy.
At BILL, the product marketing team works cross functionally with product, user experience, support, sales, customer success, brand, growth, creative, and legal, making it an extremely dynamic and influential part of the organization. You’ll be responsible for driving both strategy and execution across the entire GTM lifecycle and be responsible for supporting growth in key business metrics.
In this role, you will focus on driving the success of BILL through the following job responsibilities:
- Drive adoption of our product within target segmentsÂ
- Craft world-class messaging to support your GTMS plans, particularly for our accounting software sync and integration capabilities
- Own and drive GTMS “soup to nuts”, working cross functionally
- Partner with teams to develop top of funnel marketing strategies
- Create content to support onboarding and product adoption
- Deliver sales enablement content to arm reps with the training needed to pitch BILL capabilities and productsÂ
- Measure effectiveness of your GTMsÂ
Competencies to be successful in this role:
- 3+ years of experience as a product marketer, with an emphasis on product marketing for B2B SaaS products. The ideal candidate will have experience in the B2B fintech space, preferably with ERP solutions.Â
- Success driving results in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strategic Thinker and Executor: Ability to articulate large complex challenges and plan holistically to develop and execute well-thought out solutions.
- Product Expert: Intimately know the product. Launch and monetize new features to the installed base as well as to prospects by developing the messaging and core upsell programs and by partnering with the Sales and Support teams.Â
- Customer Expert and Champion: Be the voice of the customer. Know the customer needs, buyer journey, language, and overall mindset of the mid market segments and turn those insights into messages and programs that resonate. Champion the customer needs across the company.
- Collaborative Partner: Ability to work cross functionally and influence without authority.
- Sales Enabler: Work closely with the sales team to deliver sales plays and tools to close new business, especially for our larger customers. Continue to evolve the process to address objections, competition, new capabilities and market shifts.
- Competitive Guru: Stay on top of the competition for this market segment. Contribute to competitive battle cards and keep the product and sales teams informed about changes in the competitive landscape. Be a champion for new features that are important to stay ahead of competition.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to take a data-driven approach to measure, assess and recommend where to focus. Deeply understand the business metrics (e.g., funnel metrics, test results, sales process insights) and conduct customer research to uncover new insights.
