Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager role is a fast-paced, dynamic opportunity to execute and grow the core foundations of product marketing - Leading and guiding activities surrounding positioning and messaging, to competitive and customer insight, to launch strategy plus many more - Supporting Category Management and Quality Assurance Teams, Through Marketing focused on key portfolios. This provides exposure to diverse perspectives, working styles and product lifecycle stages.

You'll also have the responsibility for the Marketing executions of select product portfolios. Supporting and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to help launch strategy and alignment from concept to creation to release. In partnership with Merchandising category leaders, this role will help ensure the successful launch and ongoing performance of Harbor Freight's private brands.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop product messaging that differentiates new products from others in the market.
  • Maintain and manage competitive intelligence and category product comparisons.
  • You are the advocate of the Customer become the eyes and ears of those who shop at Harbor Freight Tools
  • Write Customer Research Briefs.
  • Confidently interpret and analyze internal sales and customer data in conjunction with the Merchant teams.
  • Act as a liaison between the merchandising, packaging, quality assurance, and marketing teams to create comprehensive branding and marketing strategies for the assigned product categories.
  • Partner with merchant category leaders to identify the unique value of our products and to create impactful and customized launch plans for key new products.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products within assigned categories, so that our marketing expresses an appreciation for our tools and how they're used
  • Partner with our quality assurance team to ensure that products are used authentically and safely.
  • Write creative briefs for product marketing initiatives and work with the design team to create product content such as videos, email copy, and social media posts.
  • Assist in the process of translating product specifications into compelling product positioning statements.
  • Gain insight into customer use of current products, untapped opportunities, and buyer personas.

  • Travel - infrequent; occasional travel in support of photo shoots, video shoots, or trade shows and user engagement

Requirements

Education (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in a multichannel product marketing role with tool experience

Physical Requirements

General office environment requiring ability to:

  • stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
  • speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • lift up to 15 lbs.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $97,500- $146,300 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
