Position Summary:
The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) is accountable and responsible for providing geographic market expertise and the coordination of commercial and launch activities for Air Distribution content & products in the North America region. Supports Air Distribution content related problem discovery and user needs definition by coordinating inputs related to market research, user research and customer support. Provides support to ensure a stream-lined and efficient intake for the product development process. Is the accountable party and point of contact for Air Distribution-related launch and adoption activities for other internal teams like Sales, Marketing and Customer Success. The special focus will be on ARC related topics and projects
In this role you'll:
UNDERSTAND MARKET AND CUSTOMERS
- Describe the market dynamics (e.g., trends, regulations, estimating total addressable market)
- -Deeply understand the end-to-end market flows & practices in North America specifically around ARC.
- Medium to Expert level competency on ATPCO Fare filing & related topics.
- Regional Expert on all Air Distribution Products (i.e. Edifact, NDC, Merchandising)
- Describe the competitive landscape and potential implications for product strategy
- Recommend potential messaging, as well as the features and functionality required
- Describe local market needs to Product Managers (e.g., solution, feature, value prop, messaging, channels) including specific market behaviours & products for North America
- -Validate Product Releases & New Product Functions for market readiness for Americas from planning to delivery.
- -Lead studies for Air Distribution Projects for the region
- -Ability to highlight potential impacts with upcoming market, regulatory or industry changes
- Put the above in context of the overall segment-specific needs, so that it is clear how specific products/content fit into the overall Amadeus value proposition.
- Suggest potential approaches for go-to-market of new content/features
MEASURE AND SCALE
- Ensure all launch and adoption activities are put in place for each individual market, working with local functional leads as appropriate and escalating any issues
- Support in the creation of external-facing product feature and use case descriptions and market-facing messaging, consistent with value prop and go-to-market strategy
- Collect feature/content localization requirements based on market needs and regulatory restrictions
- As and when requested, participate in industry events & represent Amadeus
- Drive communications and upskilling programs to sales organization
- Present to our key Strategic customers our Air Distribution Solutions
- Provide inputs to:
- Sales, so that Sales can develop action and adoption plans for the content/features to be released
- Marketing, so that Marketing can create relevant campaigns, collateral and sales enablement
- Professional Services (Operations) and Customer Support, to ensure they are informed and ready for new launches
- Knowledge management, to handle customer trainings (internal training supported by PMM)
- Bring together PMs and the relevant go-to-market teams to align on launch & adoption plans
- Monitor NDC adoption and design appropriate remedies and alternative strategies to ensure NDC adoption targets for the region are being met
CUSTOMER DISCOVERY
- Highlight implications of changes in the product roadmap for customer value proposition/messaging, as well as implications for local market needs
- Provide support in customer meetings as NDC content subject matter expert to transmit Amadeus Value Proposition and understand customer requirements
ITERATIVE DEVELOPMENT
- Offer feedback from a regional requirements point of view on specific iterations to the PMs
PRODUCT STRATEGY
- Provide market / regional input, especially in relation to the draft GTM plan
- Contribute to Strategic pricing of products collaborating with Product Managers, drive pricing localization
About the ideal candidate:
- Masters Degree (MBA or MSc), or Bachelor Degree with other relevant post-degree qualification and or equivalent work experience.
- At least 10 years in product management or product marketing, commercial, helpdesk or pre-sales roles within the travel industry, preferably within the travel agency environment
- Good understanding of travel industry and Amadeus business and operating models. Developed internal network (ideally also external).
- Good up-to-date knowledge of market dynamics and traveler behaviors. Good understanding of problem discovery, sales enablement, product lifecycle management, and product strategy.
- MS office
- English + additional Spanish language highly valued
