Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager deeply understands the value of Change Machine's platform and can translate that value proposition into a dynamic story for our target markets. In this role, the Manager leads communications, marketing, and sales development activities to identify, attract, and secure new business for Change Machine's platform as well as ongoing engagement in the platform by existing users.

As the driver of the buyer and user journeys for Change Machine's direct service partners, the Manager understands how to strategically plan, execute, and refine actions that develop and elevate Change Machine's brand presence; lead generation and engagement; and a successful automated sales pipeline. The Manager owns execution of our digital marketing strategy, lead qualification, and automated buyer and users journeys toward revenue and product engagement goals.

The Manager works closely with our CEO to operationalize the company's growth goals into a marketing strategy, while partnering closely with the Product team to reach our goals for product engagement and help translate current and prospective user needs into new product features.

As Change Machine continues to grow, this position will play a key role in building an equitable economy through national communications and engagement of our expanding partner community.

This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis: Support the Chief Executive Officer to analyze and refine our approach to generating new revenue in target markets

  • Document and refine buyer and user personas and the market environment in our key social service sectors, including Workforce Development, Housing, Financial Institutions, Community Colleges, Child Savings Programs, Health, Domestic Violence, Government, Financial Coaching, Re-entry, and Small Business Development
  • Identity key actors in our target sectors: buyer prospects, gatekeepers, and key users in prospective partner-organizations, as well as opportunities for collaboration with national intermediaries
  • Understand our competitors in each target market and develop strategies for positioning our product against the competition
  • Develop deep understanding of exactly who are buyers and users are (needs, wants, habits), by designing, testing and maintaining engagement journeys, and operationalize this through multiple sales personas, case studies, internal data analysis and content generation for web-based marketing activities for each persona

Lead Generation: Lead development and execution of our marketing plan for our products, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers

  • Own the design and ongoing implementation of sales and engagement journeys through Change Machine's CRM to acquire new business and grow the user base for our platform
  • Qualify and nurture leads, utilizing CRM, drip campaigns for non-enterprise prospects and other means of moving prospects through pipeline
  • Collaborate with product management to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer and user personas
  • Craft, execute and measure strategic lead generation campaigns and coordinate with Communications team on content for our marketing plan
  • Craft supporting campaigns and content for our marketing plan, including PR, blog posts, content, website, and socials
  • Connect Enterprise sales prospects with CRO; provide sales cycle support as needed

Sales Tracking & Data Analytics: Contribute to our processes for marketing and sales metrics documentation and analysis

  • Design, test, and maintain engagement journeys for current platform users, to increase engagement in platform features, frequency and time spend on the platform, and conversion from freemium experience to higher paid membership tiers or additional paid products available to our users
  • Manage and refine existing strategic SaaS metrics and analytics performance dashboard
  • Maintain, interpret and analyze marketing and social media metrics dashboard
  • Track market penetration monthly, quarterly and annually using established dashboard
  • Contribute insights to product roadmap

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in B2B marketing, ideally in a technology, SaaS, non profit, or social service setting
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, or the equivalent of a degree through real world experience
  • Motivated by goals and performance metrics
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively to solve problems
  • Self-starting with the ability to work independently but with the judgment to know when to seek guidance
  • Able to work in an environment where feedback is given regularly and able to incorporate feedback toward continually improving skills and adjusting their approach
  • Experience using analytical metrics software such as Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, etc.
  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills

Preferred

  • Experience in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Pardot, and Asana
  • Motivated to be thorough and detail-oriented
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills
  • Initiative to collect, coordinate, and synthesize information across multiple teams
  • Process driven, including creating analytic reports and Asana project boards

Salary range - $80,000 - $90,000 in a non-exempt, hourly capacity

Ample PTO includes four weeks of paid vacation accumulated during the year, plus 12 federal holidays

While our operations are largely remote, our headquarters are based out of Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Periodically, we expect staff to come together in-person for all-staff events and meetings.
