As the Product Marketing Manager, you've got your head in the clouds and your hands in the dirt. You have a vision for your products' success, a penchant for collaborating and co-authoring plans with others, a knack for energizing and enlisting people to bring your vision to pass, and a burning desire to report stellar results.

You're creative and strategic, an utter freak of left brain + right brain thinking-an analytics addict, revenue ruler, customer campaigner, proposition producer, messaging maker, professional prioritizer, and all-around marketing mage.

A Day in the Life of a Product Marketing Manager (PMM)

Every day is a little different, but one thing is certain: you're in charge of the marketing of a handful of insurance products sold pretty much entirely online. Sound boring? Think again.

Behind the boring veneer of insurance is the chance to research audiences, craft messages, and collaborate with some brilliant minds in product, design, SEO, PPC, partnerships, video, social media, and marketing automation.

As PMM, you're the principal member of our Brand Management Team. You alone own the forecasts and success of these products, their overall marketing strategies, management of stakeholders, market research, positioning, and messaging, and the crucial relationship between the Marketing and Product groups.

You'll partner with the heads of digital, design, partnerships, and content on channel-level strategies and design, video, social, digital, and email needs. You'll also partner with the Product and Program teams on launching new products, pricing strategies, product feedback/enhancements, and also help shape what those products look like.

Work Schedule & Location

This can be a fully remote job, a blend of partially remote/partially in-office, or fully in-office in Pleasant Grove, Utah. You'll work that and your hours out with your manager.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Marketing Manager, Marketing Manager, Marketing Director, Digital Marketing or similar non-individual contributor roles collaborating with others, creating marketing strategies, gathering resources, reporting results, etc.
  • History of researching, planning, budgeting, forecasting, creating, executing, analyzing, and reporting on marketing campaigns with significant results
  • Examples of bringing new products to market or an existing product to a new market
  • Experience and examples of successfully collaborating with other departments (Product, Sales, etc.) and prioritizing co-authored initiatives that delivered terrific outcomes
  • A professional background in tech, eCommerce, and/or Saas/software
  • A solid grasp of digital marketing, including SEM (SEO/PPC), email marketing, affiliate marketing, partnership marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, etc.
  • Willingness to learn the world of insurance marketingbut only so you can throw it out the window and market like a human instead
  • A humble, hungry, smart, and proactive attitude
  • Some mad project management skills with familiarity of PM tools
  • Solid presentation and writing skills that simplifies complexities, educates while entertaining, and convinces others to hop on board
  • The ability to craft a compelling product, value proposition, and/or message
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities, leveraging data to see both market problems and opportunities

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience aggressively growing a company from 6-figure to 8-figure revenue in a span of < 3 years
  • A background in insuretech, B2B eCommerce, or B2B SaaS/software
  • A history and examples of building feedback loops involving other teams (Product, Sales, etc.) that result in improvements to the product over time
  • Experience with marketing automation, analytics, project planning and ecomm software like Hubspot, Google Analytics, Monday.com, Trello, etc.
  • Significant experience in market/audience research tactics that result in clear user profiles/buyer personas
  • History of creating and/or recommending pricing strategies or pricing updates
