Product Marketing Manager

The role:

As the Product Marketing Manager, you will become an expert on our customer base and users as well as the technical offerings of Viam, and use that knowledge to advise product direction and documentation. Viam’s customer base and users are a mix of robotics hobbyists, students, hardware engineers, software engineers, founders, robotic companies, and companies interested in applying robotics to their established non-robotic focused businesses. This is a unique opportunity to drive a product marketing direction for a variety of use cases, across all industries, and make a true impact in the ever growing robotics space. 

This position will report directly to the CEO. The majority of the company is based out of our NY Headquarters.

You'll be:

• Driving product marketing direction for Viam, collaborating with other marketing, engineering and product functions.
• Developing and activate Viam’s core messaging and positioning
• Understanding market trends, customer requirements, usage and buying behavior, and the partner ecosystem to better identify market opportunities and customer demand for Viam’s platform.
• Using customer, partner and industry research to influence product strategy and drive effective messaging.
• Educating the market about Viam’s core technical value offerings through collaterals such as demos, case studies, white-papers, workshops, presentations, technical blogs and more.
• Growing a customer reference program to engage our customers and to showcase customer success using Viam.
• Providing input about product priorities and goals to Product Management.
• Crafting engaging audience-specific content, including case studies, presentations, data sheets, whitepapers, blogs and more.
• Collaborating directly with the CEO and Head of Product.

We're looking for someone who:

• 5+ years of PMM experience
• Adept at digesting complex, technical ideas and framing them in easy to understand language
• Get excited to explore new and unique ways to solve problems.
• Technical background and understanding of developer products/tools.
• Is collaborative by nature and has demonstrated experience building credibility with and delivering results for product teams, sales teams and customers.
• Uses data to make informed decisions

• Experience in enterprise SaaS or robotics industry

The starting salary for this role is between $140,000 - $220,000/year. Your exact offer will vary based on a number of factors including experience level, skillset, market location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced, or more senior, than this job description as posted. In these situations, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
