Position Summary:

You will build out and scale the product marketing function for a late stage (Series C) B2B enterprise SaaS company. Through voice of customer (VOC) initiatives, you will develop a deep understanding of the business problems that personas within our healthcare market Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) are trying to solve. You will develop compelling messaging to communicate the value of our solution (ie ROI, staff safety) to the buying committee in charge of selecting the solution. The ideal candidate will have experience bringing new SaaS products to market, employing a strategic lens to activities and have a proven ability to deliver high-quality launch strategies that include product training, price and promotion. Post launch, you will work closely with sales and marketing, iterating on messaging to ensure we are hitting our new pipeline, pipeline velocity and bookings goals. The position requires experience and discipline to design and develop internal processes, playbooks and a data driven approach to analyze and execute on new market opportunities. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of vertical product marketing, use case development and the ability to work collaboratively in an organization to define go-to-market strategies that deliver results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and refine the product marketing strategy to establish Cognosos as a category leader across the Healthcare vertical. You’ll drive a cohesive product marketing strategy across the entire buyer’s journey including: awareness, education, selection, impact, and upsell.
  • Market opportunity assessment. Work closely with Product Management to identify and research new market opportunities. Conduct a thorough market analysis including identifying unmet market needs, persona definition, solution definition, pricing, and competitive analysis.
  • Document the key market and business requirements and customer expectations (outcomes and objectives) internally that create the foundation for verticalized programs.
  • Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make.
  • Sales Enablement & Support. Train Sales on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools (first call decks, competitive battlecards) and external collateral (case studies, ROI calculators) and teach them how and when to use it.
  • New Product Introduction. Serve as program manager for product launches, including but not limited to: product marketing positioning, content creation (documentation, product training, blogs, sales enablement), marketing campaigns, and promotional tactics.
  • Assess product marketing effectiveness through new pipeline creation, pipeline velocity, and new bookings. Report back and recommend to the business on any required changes.

An ideal candidate has:

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience within a B2B SaaS organization (healthcare preferred).
  • Worked in a tech startup between $5-25mil ARR
  • You are a problem-solver at heart—you seek to understand others’ business problems and identify the best possible solutions to improve their business outcomes.
  • We are looking for a dynamic individual contributor who loves to think strategically, act tactically – one who is quick to act, decisive and can build enthusiasm and engagement in the organization.
  • Fluency with metrics relevant to both marketing and sales in B2B SaaS, and translating insights into action.
  • Experience using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack, Zoom, and HubSpot

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or related field of study
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in B2B SaaS with experience in healthcare or related vertical/enterprise markets.
  • You are comfortable working in a highly collaborative cross functional environment and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
  • You are comfortable conducting research, interviewing subject matter experts and developing expert insights that can be used to create thought leadership and campaigns in new markets.
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter who prides themselves on having a growth mindset.
  • You have tenacity that turns problems into opportunities without getting discouraged after a setback.
  • You believe in the power of process adherence to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple work streams to launch programs on time.
  • Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid writer.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working.
